Samsung sgh-d500 - sound / hear problem

Hi, for several months now, my samsung sgh-d500 does not effect sound while ringing or playing a music. I could cope as I can see whenever there is a missed call or msg received. However, since last week, when I received a phone call or need to make a phone call, I could not hear my correspondent (but the correspondent could hear me)!!! This problem is frustrating

I CAN PLAY MUSIC AND MY ALARM WORKS BUT I DONT GET ANY SOUND WHEN SOMEONE CALLS. I HAVE A RED CROSS OVER THE SPEAKER ICON ON THE TOP OF THE PHONE AND WHEN I TRY TO TURN UP THE VOLUME, I AM ASKED TO DEACTIVATE MUTE. I CANT DEACTIVATE MUTE AS IT HAS A PASSWORD THAT I CANT REMEMBER. CAN YOU HELP!

My phone wont let me take the quiet mode of, does anyone know how to take it of as it only vibrates

Take it to the shop. that is a technical problem. sorry. this is an awsome site though because it fixed my d500!

No sound

I'm having the same problem. However, I have discovered that it is something to do with the upper slide part of the phone. For some reason, if you push the slide down just a bit when you're trying to play music the sound comes on. Not sure how to fix this problem other than scrap the phone.

This is a network related setting. Do the following.

from your home screen, type "* 61 * (voice mail access

number) ** (time in multiples of 5 ) #" and then press SEND. For
example, if my voicemail

access number is 404-555-1212 and I want it to ring for 20 seconds
before forwarding to

voicemail, I would type: *61*14045551212**20#
