Issues with replacing Ballast

I own a Samsung HL-R4667 DLP TV. One day the picture went out on the tv, sound was still present, and the lamp and temp lights blinked on the front. After trying to replace the lamp, and the tv still exhibiting the same symtoms, I replaced the ballast. After replacing the ballast, the lights are still blinking on the front of the tv and no picture is showing up. However, the lamp is now turning on in the back of the tv.

At this point, I am uncertain as to what to do to my tv to get it to work again. Is there a reset process I need to follow? Someone mentioned that the main board may need to be reset. Does anyone know how to do this or have experience with this? Should I try to purchase a samsung repair manual?

Thanks for any advice or assistance.

The flash code indicates that the lamp cover is not installed correctly. There are safety switches built into the housing that require the cover be installed correctly for the set to work. If the cover is actually in place correctly, there may be a broken switch. Check for this and update this if you can not resolve the problem.

Samsung DLP turns on and off - cycle repeats

make sure put the lamp door back before trying to turn it on because they have switches on them that allow the tv to turn on. If that is ok you probably have a bad ballast.
Call a local tv repair shop to further diagnose the problem.

Samsung DLP TV, no picture, has sound

Try replacing the ballast next. Its the small circuit board directly underneath the lamp housing. You can access it through the lamp door. If the ballast is overheating or has a leaking capacitor, the tv won't stay lit for more than a minute or two.

Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.
