Need to change the language on my garmin nuvi 205w series to english. it is now in spanish.

You do not tell witch Garmin GPS device you own.

But in general language are changed in settings.

Here is a site that explain how to do this in Nuvi 200 and Nuvi 700 series.

• Then press SETTINGS, (the spanner icon) or on some models LOCALE (Blue Icon at the top left corner) replaces the SETTINGS icon

If you need to change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and select ENGLISH
To change the voice language press VOICE and select the name of an English speaking voice
If you need to change the keyboard layout press KEYBOARD and select English

If the text language is in Spanish you won't know which icon is which but press each one in turn and you can change each to English. This should solve your problem.

This will bring you to a page with 3 items VOICE LANGUAGE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD
If you need to change the voice language press VOICE LANGUAGE and select a name of an English speaking country.
If you need to change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and change to English

Go to http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/home/support/searchsupport?search_key=change%20language and the instructions are there for changing it to english.

go into your settings and or advanced settings and select language ! select english

menu, then click the icon that looks like a wrench for settings, then spoken click spoken language, then scroll up or down to find the correct language, then click it and save.

Turn unit on, hit i agree when prompted. Push tool icon in lower right hand corner. Then press settings icon, scroll down to language, there it have voice, text, and key board, you may be able to hit restore in the bottom right corner or you can set each seperatly. If its in Portugese it will say Deinicoes not settings, and Idioma is language, then texto for text. Restaurar is restore. Sim is yes.

Touch the Wrench icon which is located on the screen with the Magnifying Glass and Map icon
Touch the Wrench icon
Touch the down arrow
Touch the Lips/Mouth icon
Touch the top right blue box
Touch the up arrow until you see American English
Touch American English
Touch OK
This should now be in English.
