I have internet access but when I click on the Internet Explorer it says "Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." Then it closes the window. Usually if there isn't internet access it says Could not display the page and the window stays open to be able to still try to type an address but not even that happens. The window just closes right away. I tried a system restore and still nothing. I donLt know how to get it working.

This happens when IE is corrupted. Since IE is part of Windows the only way to fix it is to reinstall.
Or you could use another browser instead of IE. I recommend Opera, it's way faster and has a lot more features.

Keep getting message "Internet Explorer has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" Have waited...

If you are using IE 7/8 you can try to run the program without loading any add-ons to see if one of them is causing the problems. To do this, click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

(You can also load IE without add-ons by clicking START --> RUN and then typing iexplore.exe -extoff)

If those don't work try to re-register IEPROXY.DLL by clicking START --> RUN and typing regsvr32 IEPROXY.DLL and then clicking OK.

When IE dissapears does IExlorer.exe show in the task manager's list of running processes?

Have any toolbars or new sofware been added recently? If so and you are using Win XP you may want to try a system restore to a previous point before the changes were made or uninstall the toolbars completely. Also disabled all Pop-Up blockers to see if that has any effect.clean up ur registry using reginout

My compac vista home basic . internet explorer is not working .. everytime i go to the internet it will come up iternet explorer has stop working a problem caused the program to stop working . :( its so...

Forget Internet Explorer. It really isn't worth trying to fix it. Download Firefox or Google Chrome for free and use either of those instead. You will not miss IE! Both Firefox and Chrome are miles faster and more stable. If you actually can't access the internet due to your problem, use some other computer (go to your library if necessary) and save your download to a usb stick, then copy it to your computer and run it to install. No more problems!

Links using internet explorer 8 will not open, facebook, farmville, live mail...

Hi,

This is possibly due to the phising filter in the IE 8, to resolve this issue follow the below steps.

Add the facebook.com in to trusted sites loaction, and disabling the add ons in the browser.

1) Check for your internet security settings, or activex or java settings
2)you may try to access the links, without any add-on's to verify if it works fine.
Click the Start button,
Click All Programs and click Accessories
Cclick System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Verify if it works fine and if it works, here's what you can do:

Disable it. If an add-on causes repeated problems, disable it by using Add-on Manager in Internet Explorer.

Report it. When prompted, you might want to report the problem to Microsoft. The report is anonymous and requires nothing from you except your permission. These reports are used to improve our products and to encourage other companies to update and improve theirs.

3) You may also try to optimize Internet explorer on your computer and later verify if you are able to access the links.
Access the link below and follow the steps to optimize Internet explorer.

4) If the issue persists, you may try to reset the internet Explorer settings on your computer and verify if you are able to fix the issue.

To Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature, follow these steps:
1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
2. Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:
inetcpl.cpl
The Internet Options dialog box appears.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.

"Internet Explorer has has stopped working..."

After installing IE8 on vista I kept getting msg Internet Explorer has stopped working - continually looping thru this message.

Solution for me was.
End IE with task manager - needed to do a couple of times.
Then from control panel -> programs -> manage addons I disabled all add ons and then IE started OK. Then by process of elimination stated enabling add on until failed again.

In my case it was the skype addon that was causing IE to fail. Leaving it disabled has allowed IE8 to function.

Internet explorer stopped working

Do you get an error message which asks you send or dont send? if yes, delete all the temporary files by clicking on tools menu -> internet options -> general tab -> click delete button -> click delete all.
If there is no message before internet restarts, then uninstall internet explorer 7 from 'add/remove programs and try in ie6. if that does not work then remove ie6 from 'add/remove windows components' and restart computer then check internet explorer in 'add/remove windows components' and restart again. It should work.
