I have a Compaq Presario CQ70-215 Laptop. Yesterday i installed an update for vista and the power went off (i slipped in the cable) and it wouldnt start up. it only gave me a white screen. and i tried reooting whithout the battery and such. but it didnt work. the my stepdad got it to work somehow by rebooting with control-alt-delete and it worked fine rest of the day. then i installed another update for vista and i shut it down afterwards. but i closed the lid a bit too soon. and it began to hibernate befoore it was done installing and shutting down. and then the next day when i wanted to use again, i opened it and it came out of hibernate. it continued the process all fine and shutted down. i rebooted it and it whent white again... I couldnt do anything and my stepdad couldnt fix it either. what do i do? It doesnt even show BIOS or anything. cant do nothing reboot and reboot and reboot. Help me! I´m desperate!

hi sir..There's a formatting option available during the install. Just boot from the Vista CD and select the partition where the old installation is. Windows will do the formatting for you.if you don't have vista you can download it from the following site and then boot your system http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Signatures-Updates/Windows-Vista-Service-Pack-2.shtml
Reinstallations of XP sometimes do not install all of the sound files needed. Do a google search for UAA, it is Microsoft's audio file. Download it, install it and then run Windows update. The drivers for your machine should be under the Hardware section of the updates.
