This might be a sign of a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

Im trying to switch to an external monitor on my hp G60-235DX laptop. The laptop screen has been damaged and does not work. Is there an easy solution?

Try holding the 'fn' key and hitting f5 after the external monitor is connected.
This should toggle through the internal / external / both monitor selections.

My hp g60-235DX turn on and the backlight is on but the screen is black and the keys don't work. HELP please I have all my school work on here.

If you have an external monitor, plug it in and see if you get image on it. If you do then there could be 2 things I can think about that would be the cause.

1) Your screen cable came lose. You can re-set it and problem fixed.
2) Your screen needs replacement. This solution can be pricey.

If you don't want to do this yourself then you can check this place.

If you wanna buy the screen I suggest you check this place. Great customer service and good prices. It also has a "Tools" area with tutorials of how to change screens, and many other useful things.

When i turn my lap top on the screen stays black. I can hear that it has turned on but nothing appears. One message shot up but I was unable to read it so I know that its not the actual screen.

Restart the notebook, press F8 to select last known configuration. this will set the notebook to previous date when it was working fine. If the issue persists get back to me.

BLANK SCREEN ON MY hp compaq nx9420. my laptop was working fine and then when restarted I got a blank screen. The power LED and cahrging LED both light up but screen remains blank. have changed the video...

Did it display any video at all with boot options or HP logo? Any POST test or beeps after you started the laptop?
Try removing the power ac adapter and battery. then only boot it up with just the AC adapter (no battery).

PC wont go on & beeps...

thats mostlikely one of the wire's for your speakers, printer or any other device yuo have that needs power..
If so that wont help your pc in any way.

I'd untangle and trace the wire back to see where it's coming from to be safe.
Also if your pc is plugged in along with your monitor and you can turn both on and you still get an error, then you have a problem. I'd submit a new question detaling the error or beeps your getting.

Keyboard on lap top not working

Hello there,

What I would assume in your case is that the jack is not sensing that the keyboard(external) has been unplugged. You can check if the device is working properly in Hardware manager. Assuming you are using XP right-click on My computer->click properties-> hardware manager and check under keyboards. If there's any exclamatory mark next to it then it seems there's some kind of problem with it. Right-click on the device and click on uninstall. Since most of these workstation keyboards are Microsoft PS/2, windows should automatically find and install drivers for it. If it stil doesn't work then its likely to be a hardware failure. Contact HP immediately. Let me know if you need more help.
