The LCD screen on my Fuji broke while I was on vacation. I have some pictures saved to internal memory. I cannot find a cord that will connect the camera to my computer. Is there anyway I can retrieve those photos without buying a new screen?

Hello

Download THIS.

Download this free tool and run it on you card and it should be able to recover all pictures provided that you have not used the card since formatting. I recommend using a card reader for this.

After downloading and running (no installation required) , simply select deep scan and your memory card and it will start scanning, To recover a found file , right click it and select save.

Please note that the file names will probably not be available and also that some of the properties of the photo like date taken could be lost.

Please let me know when you have recovered your pictures safely or contact me if you need further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

My dsc-w80 keeps saving all of my pics to the internal memory

Set camera on playback mode, you will see any saved picture in internal memory. Insert memory card and lcd screen will show you either blue screen if memory card has no picture files or will show you picture in memory card. That means memory card is intact with camera and ready to store fresh picture.
Set camera to camera mode and take few fresh pictures and check them in playback mode.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Internal memory

You can only access the internal memory, when there is no card in the camera. So, turn off the camera, remove the card, connect to the computer and save the images to the computer. After checking that images are saved, you can delete the images in the internal memory, before inserting the card again.

Fuji Finepix split screen

If the picture taken from digicam are ok when viewed from a computer, the lcd viewer has a loose connection or defective already, if you can open your unit, try to disconnect and reconnect the lcd flexwire inside.

Saved images to the internal memory or to the optional xD-Picture Card

The internal memory and the xD-Picture Card cannot be used at the same time. When the card is inserted the internal memory is disabled. When you want to use the internal memory, remove the xD Picture Card. The LCD display will indicate that images are saved to internal memory by displaying [IN] in the lower right corner of the screen. When using the xD-Picture Card the camera’s LCD will display [xD] in the lower right corner of the screen. These indicators are displayed just above the number of available frames.
