OK when you increased the ram from 512 to 2G, your hands usually bump the video card and loosen the connection... Crack open your PC again and re seat the video card... This is all pertaining if you have a separate video card in that computer. Just unplug the video card and re snap it in.

1 GB increase

hi

not every motherboard or on board video is compatible with windows 8

what windows was it running previously

windows 8 was designed for 64 bit platforms which requires 4 gig of ram but you have to also take into account the other hardware components and there maximum configuration

i have run win 8 on 2 gig of ram but it struggles with you tube downloads

i upgraded the ram to 4 gig and run win xp win 7 and win 8.1 on the hard drive

I have a DELL with XP-Home Edition - version 2002 service pack 3, Intel(R) - Pentium(R) 4cpu 2.66ghz, 2.66ghz, 512 MB of RAM My daughter plays games and has 24 of them in the computer - she tells me I...

Hello, Jim.

Dell's official position is that the maximum memory for this PC is 1 GB. But, it may be able to support 2 GB, per Intel's specs.

But, to answer your question - yes - you can increase your memory amount to 1 GB. Since the system has 2 memory slots, you could conceivably have (2) 512KB modules (total 1 GB). If your system already has 1 module of 512 KB, you could add another. Just be certain it's the same type and speed.

Or, you could have a 1 GB module.

I don't think that your computer's life is in jeopardy, but additional memory always helps the speed of your computer.

Hope this helps.

No signal to monitor. No beeps at start up. Fans running. New video card installed (after issue began) monitor & cord are working fine (have checked both with other computer)

There might be a problem with your RAM you may check your RAM and clean it with a cotton cloth and fix it again or change your RAM and see
Or the problem can also be with your moniter
thanks
