Bissell 3750-t part

I am looking for the plug and socket that mate when the lift out unit is placed back in the base unit. It is located at the bottom of the lift out part and the top rear of the base unit. They are a molded 2pin P&S that have short pig tails with plugs on the end of them. Thank you for any help, Bob

I am trying the email route, after reading your siggestion our 3750-T is less than 3yrs old and we noticed it smoking - so we cleaned everything and then noticed the plug and socket were completely melted, and now it will not work at all.

The plug and socket for the lift out unit burned up.

  • sdmalles May 16, 2009

After a few years of light use my Bissell mod. 3750-t began smoking. I shut it down and unplugged it and after a quick look over I noticed that the plug between the lift off unit and the base had burned itself into a chunk coal. I have done an extensive search for replacemnt parts but could only find the male plug. Where can I get the matching female side? sdmalles

I called Bissell and they wanted me to buy a new vacuum. Planned obsolescence, at 5 years. Basically the male piece and female piece mate and then we have electrical contact and the brush motor spins. Over the years the friction causes the pieces to no longer mate since the male piece will eventually have a smaller diameter. So we need to clean off the three male pieces, and I used a dental scraper, similar technique to having your teeth scraped at the dentist. Once the three male pieces are cleaned down to bare metal and shiny, glistening, then we are ready for the next step. I used a 132 watt Weller Junior soldering gun and 60/40 solder and coated the three male pieces with solder. Low and behold, the brush roll motor turns on strongly and we have a fixed vacuum, combating that planned obsolescence. Heck the Electrolux from 1955 still works, and we have to buy new brushes every twenty years or so.

Send an email to Bissell and they will send you a new refurbished vacuum. For some reason I was only able to find the male plug. So when I contacted Bissell they responded promptly no questions asked and said they would send me a new vacuum...All I had to do was send them the cord and they even paid for shipping!

No power to Bissell 3750-E

I'd test the new fuse with a meter. I'd then plug it in and retest for power and ground to and through the switch and motor. It could be as simple as a loose or pinched wire which grounded out.

I was lifting off the canister, and now there is a connector sticking up from the base. It looks like a phone jack connector. I can't reattach it. It's right in the center of the bottom of the cannister....

If the connector does not move when you gently push or pull it when you slide the canister back on the vacume it should go in place. If it is on a short piece of wire you have to gently fit it in to the hole on the other part of the vacume

Bissell 3750-T Bagless Upright Vacuum motor is hot, noisy, and smells like it is burned out, but still working. Can I replace the motor?

There are threee filters inside this unit. Be sure all three are clean. You can't clean the Hepa filter. You can only replace it. You may even try pluging it in and running it (not while vacuuming the carpet) without the filters to see if it is clogged up anywhere. It's not uncommon to **** up an object that doesn't fit though the vaccum hose very well and for that item to cause hair etc to catch on it and plug that hose. Before you know it you have a big plug in that hose. The hose detaches easily. Look through it.

Need tel number for manual

You listed this under a Bissell Lift-Off so I am assuming your looking for a Bissell manual. You can reach Bissell at (800) 237-7691or you can download your manual below. Your unit should be a 3750 or a 3760.

Male plug needs to be replaced.

I had same problem with my lift-off, i sent email to Bissell explaining what the problem was and where to get replacement parts. They sent me emial back saying they will send me refeb replacement vacuum becasue this part has been discontinued (I think there is a prolem with lift-off and Bissell is trying to make it right for their customer without official recall). I did get my fedex lable and i sent entier length of cord from my lift-off back to them. I should be getting my refeb vacuum soon.
