Important thing: HP inkjet printers having self align technology & its aligns automatically after replacing the ink cartridge/s.In the process of align it will prints align page &it will read it on the model. Suppose if you replaced yellow cartridge, as usually it will print align page, but if one or more cartridges not printing properly align will not completes. Results every time it will prints the align page when its switching on. Align will completes only when all cartridges/print heads are in healthy condition.. Check the alignpage find out which colors are not printing properly, replace it to over come from this issue. Now you decide what to do?..
If Printer heads health condition is not good, alignment wont completes.. Four individual cartridges & Two print heads, each print head prints two colors.. Black& Yellow, Cyan & Magenta.. Verify which color is not printing properly(Color missing Or white bands).. Perform 2 or 3 times print head cleaning through printer menu..Try for alignment.. If success end.. if no, replace the print head which is not printing properly.. Before replacing the printer head ensure that cartridge ink should be above 30%...
Print quality depends on cartridge health condition only, especially in inkjet printers.*Print head clogging: Usually white horizontal lines in print outs due to print head nozzles are clogged. Printer it self having self cleaning mechanism to clean the nozzles while printing & powering on..And "clean nozzles" option also designed in printer drivers for cleaning. And last option is manual cleaning. Alcohol is good solvent & best for cleaning the nozzles, use cotton or ear buds to swab on the surface of the nozzles with alcohol gently.. You will get good quality print outs if cartridges are in good condition..(see the snap shots)Other parts to clean: Encoder, disc encoder, service station & rollers needs to clean periodically to avoid malfunctions & paper jams.*Encoder's malfunctions: If any vertical or horizontal crooked print outs observed, clean both encoders needs to clean.. (see snap shot for encoders)*Service station malfunctions: If any carriage jams observed in service station, remove & clean it ..(see the snap shot)*Rollers malfunctions: If media is not picking up properly it causes jamming error, clean or replace the rollers..
The surge protector or UPS may not be allowing sufficient voltage
through to the printer. HP printers do not have built in speakers of any
kind. Because of this, they are not capable of making any beeping or
squealing sounds. If any noises such as these are heard then the printer
is probably connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or a
backup battery. To verify that the UPS is the source of the noise, plug
the printer directly into a wall outlet bypassing the UPS.
The following are common symptoms:
High pitched squealing, beeping sounds, or alarms (UPS)
Noise over the phone line can also cause high-pitched squeals and beeping sounds.
Inexplicable or false error messages
Printer will not "wake up" from sleep mode
Printer appears to be DOA
Slower than normal printing
The printer control panel display is blank or shows garbled characters
Accessories, such as attached copier/scanners, do not function properly
Monitor loses power or shuts off
Computer reboots when job is printing
Job only prints half way, causing a paper jam
If it is necessary for the product to be connected to the above-mentioned devices, consider the following items:
are many UPS configurations and load conditions that can affect proper
printer operation. Depending on these configurations or load conditions,
printer functionality cannot be predicted.
No damage to current HP LaserJet
products will occur, but, depending on their particular UPS
configuration, the printer may or may not operate properly.
Printing while on a UPS battery backup is not recommended because of the large power requirements of HP LaserJet products.
If the HP LaserJet printer is not
operating properly and power line conditions are suspected, try a
different circuit (a different wall plug located away from the current
one), or try removing it from the UPS.

please hold down power button for 20 seconds so that hp printer shuts down and reboot again and try and see what happens
good luck with it if that doesnt work go to device manager then remove the printer and remove all printer software and then unplug printer reboot computer then you plug in printer then let the windows software load all drivers they will work fine once you install the new software go to windows update website then look for updates for new hardware items you are good to go reboot and happy printing
un install the printer driver, reboot ,windows should detect new hardware ,and then insert the cd that came with the printer select have disc and re-install the software.
if your acer has vista you may need to get a vista driver for it,or worse the printer is not compatible with vista.
