My camera was accidentally thrown in the washing machine with laundry and was washed. Have let it sit for a few days to let it dry out and now it won't turn on. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

A few days is nowhere near enough. If you've tried to turn it on, the circuits are probably fried. The soapy water would definitely leave a film over everything including the inside of the lens elements. You should have buried the camera in a bowl of dry rice for a couple of weeks before even attempting to turn it on. Even then, the chance of a complete recovery would be less than .00000000000000001%!!! At least we learn from our mistakes.

My towels smell and I have to rinse at least two additional times. Have changed detergents always using HD, use more, use less, stopped using liquid softner.

Run a load of whites (or with no clothes) with bleach to kill any mildew or bacteria build-up in the washer. If you have your own well, install an anti-bacterial and odor removal filter in the water line.

The first time you wash towels after doing this, pre-soak the towels in water with a "color-safe" bleach to get any little stinkers hiding in them. Also, disinfect your towel storage and any place where they are hung after use, and after that make sure the towels are dried out before they are thrown into the laundry basket unless they are going to the washing machine immediately.

After a wash cycle, there is water sitting in the gasket around the door. This water smells after a few days. What is to be done?

Make sure the washer sits level front to back and side to side. Wipe away any water and leave the door ajar to let the inside dry out. If the whole washer insides smell, run an empty cycle with hot water, detergent, and baking soda to refresh. Hope this helps!

Moldy gasket

It because the mildew is not just on the gasket, but it is in the tub and in the pump and discharge hose as well. You need to reduce/eliminate the mildew in those parts. There is a couple of things you should do to reduce the causes of mildew.

1. Run the machine once a month using hot water and two cups of vinegar to clean out the machine. You might need to repeat this a few times to completely clean out your machine.

2. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the about and type of laundry detergent to use with your wash. Using too much detergent causes a build up of detergent on the tub which encourages mildew growth.

3. After your final wash of the day, leave the door and laundry detergent open, wipe dry the gasket with a cloth.

4. If the above steps does not help, try a commercial product like Affresh.

Hope this helps you.

The twin tub connected to the washing machine doesn't drain.

the pipe you are using is too small for the amount of water you are forcing into it

Softner remaining in drawer after wash, then laundry is full of static after drying.

Try to do a cleaning wash without any washing. Add 5ltr of any brand of washing bleach and program a normal wash cycle. This will clean out the system and may solve your problem. It is a good idea to do this every few months as a routine.

Smelly washer

The disgusting smell is from using too much detergent, using softener or from using only cold water for washing.

The area of buildup is just above the normal waterline where suds and soiled water splash up and don't get rinsed out. To clean this area: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua6OJPn0-fU

The added bulk of the laundry will raise the water level to include the "splash area" intermittent pausing to soak is also a good tip in extreme cases.
