Please use DVD drive cleaner and get head cleaned. Then load the DVD and if problem still persist then there is problem with the lens. Call the engineer and get the lens cleaned or replaced.

Hi,

90% of DRE occur only when the laser is gone bad or have some dust or omething like that by the normal usage.

Avoid using scratched or old disks in the drive.

Cleaning the lens will do woders.

Most one of three methods:

A Lens cleaning disc

Open the drive and clean lens camera type lens cleaner cloth and brush

Open the drive and clean lens with Alcohol and a soft cloth or Q-Tip

Some also try a " Dish Off" type spray

The same as the above person said u can atleast clean the lens using a lens cleaner disc or sometimes this may be a problem with the strip which connects from the lens to the cicuit board u can always unplug the strip and replug it in if still u have the same problem try to replace the strip because it costs less compared to a lens

When i tryt to play a dvd in my philips DVP3144 it keeps flashing load and wont play

Try a cleaning disk in the player to remove accumulated dirt from the laser eye. This accounts for 99% of load error and insert disk in player errors

I keep getting a Bad Disk error when loading DVDs that I know are fine. When there's no disk loaded, all I see is the blue load screen with the message "loading" in the upper left

there is a ribbon cable in the DVD player that connect the moving laser head to the main circuit board. When this cable becomes damaged from moving over time, it will claim that your DVD is bad (even though it is not). Best to scrap the player and buy a new one.

DVD will not load

Firs try to clean the lens with CD/DVD cleaning disk (it might be $1-5 depending on store)
Also check if DVD disk not upside down.
Also chek the DVD disk for scratches

Disk error

It could be the lens on the laser. There are special cleaning disks for that.

Recording Error "Can not record on this disk/E4 54037380

I had that exact same problem. I would record a bunch of dvds with no problems for months and then some and one day it doesn't work. Only this showed up E4 EA03738B. However I've found the solution. Instead of going out and returning the recorder or buying new dvds just purchase a Laser Lense Cleaner. It's a dvd cleaner. Works like a charm.

DVD will not load/format new disk

I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.
