If the CMOS setting is wrong after changing it and when you boot up again the CMOS setting is again wrong. This fault occurs when the CMOS battery is worn out, replace the CMOS battery and configure the CMOS and the settings will remain unchanged.

I have an acer aspire, after switching off last night and turning back on, I have a screen del: set up or f12: boot, nothing happens when I press either, have had to hold in the on off button a few times...

First reattch your mouse and keyboard cable connection to cpu.
Then check if still same then open cpu cabinet.
Refix RAM memory.
When cmos cell is gone this issue occurs so change cmos cell .
Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then refix into it.
Reattach ATX power connctor from smps to motherboard.
Reattach processor and its fan.
then check.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

No video output

Try to change the cmos jumper to the other side, some motherboard comes with this jumper set to clear so the cmos batt dont drain out on storage.
