Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Sony CD Recorder disc problem

I recently did videography for a wedding and I used the church Sony CD Recorder to record the audio from the ceremony. I tested it before hand and it worked perfectly. Before the service began I started it, and after the service I stopped it, finalized, and it showed Track 1 at about 33 minutes long. But when I got home and tried to rip it, it wouldn't rip and just kept freezing Media Player. Then I tried to play the CD in a regular player and it won't play! The other disc that I did the test on rips and plays just fine! I neeeeed this audio. I haven't lost all hope because it's recognized as an audio disc, and it shows the track and the length. Any idea how to extract this audio or salvage any of the recording??? Thank you in advance!

I havee been trying to record services at church...and every time i hit record it says data disc....what am i doing wrong...please help me!!!!!

Manuals are always a good place to start.

You ARE using a data disc. It's literal. RTM and see that it only uses blank media that say "Digital Audio" on them.

Have not been able to find digital cd's. Are cd audios the same for use on philips 870

Philips CDR 870 is designed to RECORD with ONLY Audio or Music CD-R or CD-RW discs !!
The word(s) Audio Or Music MUST be written somewhere on the Cd disc or Cd Covers.
Computer CD-R and CD-RW discs will NOT Record on this recorder !!
My experience of GOOD Audio/Music discs : Philips,Sony,Traxdata,Verbatum
My experience of BAD Audio/Music discs : ALL unbranded discs, Maxell,TDK

Which cd-r audio do I buy.

when you buy cdr's to use with the recorder be sure to go and buy "cdr audio". You may have problems with certain brands. It really is hit or miss but Sony discs should be fine with this player but try to get a small number of cheaper disks and try to see what works well.

There is a small chance that one brand may sound better(or some people say) but I have never had one problem like this from one to another.
