What is the purpose of the car plug with the c330?

I charged the c330 with the USB overnight. Today when I used the c330 I plugged it into the car. Within 4 hours the low batt. msg. came on the unit. I then plugged in my cell phone into the cig. litt. and it worked fine. I checked the fuse on the charger cord and it appears fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I had a similar problem but discovered that the steetpilot was not making contact with the electrical prongs where it attachs to the suction mount. I cleaned the contacts and pried the prongs out slightly and then the unit began working and also charging the almost dead battery. The whole poblem seemed to be caused by too much tension on the mount adjustment knob which was causing the electrical contacts to separate when the unit would be turned for viewing. I intend to pay more attention to the battery charge indicator so that maybe I can solve a similar problem in the future before I run the battery down.

If you charged the GPS using the USB cable from a computer, this is too low a current for the size of battery that it has. You must use the dedicated AC charger, or the car charger.

If your unit has a battery in it that is older than about 3 to 4 years, it is possible that the battery is no longer able to hold the full charge.

The service rep for your GPS can change the battery for you if it is no longer holding the charge.

SANYO VPC-T700. I cant find my manual and I dont know how to recharge the camera battery. I plugged the USB cable into my computer and nothing happens and of course I need the camera today!

I don't think you can charge via Computer USB.. you need to use the Charger plug that comes
with the camera. Plug it up into the wall.. You should charge it overnight, but i know you don't
have that kinda time

Garmin will not take a charge

Are you using the car charger adapter plug? If so the plug may have a blown fuse... I would unscrwew the silver end of plug and check fuse ...its spring loaded so be careful...

If the fuse is good try plugging the unit into your computer with the usb connector to see if it charges .... its a slow charge so may take a few hours to fully charge

It fuse is good and unit takes a usb charge the car plug needs replacing

If there are no power points in your vehicle, you might have to purchase a battery-operated powerpack and plug the GPS into that via a USB/AC adapter.

My garmin 765 T won't turn on- I have charged it overnight

If you are charging your unit with the USB cable STOP - use only a wall plug. The unit will not charge using the USB cable. If you don't have the wall unit - try charging it with the car plug charger for 15 minutes. Just let the car charge it running or not. You will see it work. Once it is charge over half way - the rest will charge up. It is a problem Gamin is working on.

Garmin won't turn on or charge.

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

Using USB in car as external power

the unit uses power EQUAL to what it is being charged with, when plugged into the USB.
you need to leave it on the DC (cigarette lighter) charger overnight to charge it fully, or use an AC plug for the Motorola Razor (min-USB) to charge it in the house

MY STREET PILOT C330 IS NOT CHARGING.

The battery has probably drained to the point of being "empty", such that it's putting an enormous "load" on the incoming power from your power adapter. For all intents and purposes, it's sucking up so much of the incoming power from your power cable, your Garmin thinks there's little, if any, power available. That's because the drained battery is acting almost like a "short circuit", in electrical terminology. Try leaving the unit plugged into the charger for a day or two or three; if the battery hasn't been permanently damaged, it may come back to life enough fully, or at least enough to not act like a "short" across the incoming power power.

I turned it on and it lit up and then completely died

Question: Why won't my StreetPilot c3xx power on?
Found on the Garmin web site --> Answer: If your StreetPilot does not power on, or if it turns on then turns off, you can troubleshoot the problem by resetting or charging the unit. The reset is a "soft" reset that you can perform in the car; it restores power to the unit, but it does not remove data.
To reset the unit:
  1. Place the unit in the cradle and roll it backwards slightly to lock it in place.
  2. With the key in the car ignition, turn on the unit or put it in accessory mode.
  3. On the face plate of the unit, put your thumb nail in the groove under the Garmin logo and gently pull off the face plate.
  4. With the face plate removed, press the reset button on the right side.
  5. Turn the unit back on. If the unit still doesn't power on, you may need to charge it.
To charge the unit:
  1. Using the provided USB cable, connect the device to the computer.
  2. Reset the unit (following instructions above).
  3. Keep the device connected to the computer and allow it to charge overnight (7-8 hours).
  4. After charging, unplug the unit and power it on.
