Question about VIA ASRock K7VM3 Socket A/ KM266PRO/FSB333/DDR333/A&V&L/Modem/MATX MotherBoard (MOTASR09)
Ok,so i am building a pc with a Asrock K7VM3 motherboard, AMD athelonsocket 462 processor. i did my build in an atx case, with many casemods, and powered it with a ATX 550w power supply. I turned it on, andit went to boot mode, but the keyboard wouldnt work, and i tried threedifferent ps/2 keyboards, to find that it was most likely the board...so i took the cmos battery out and put it back in, as instructed... Nowthe machine wont power up at all..... So i bought a new motherboard, and IT wont power up either.. Did I blow the CPU? Or the power supply? What can/ should I do?????? Please help!
Please CLICK HERE for more info on your power supply.
My guess is that your power supply is dead. If the fan doesn't spin it may be that the fan died first and the PSU overheated.
Now, if you are fortunate nothing else got damaged. You can remove the PSU (the mounting screws are on the back of the case, there should be four) and buy a new one at your friendly local computer parts store. Get one rated for at least as much power as the old one. We can give you a hand on this if you tell us what the lable on the side of the PSU says.
I should caution you that there is a chance that when the PSU went it damaged other parts of your system.
