This is usually not a normal problem. First you have to check the setup of the device and ensure that you have the proper iPod cable. Also to narrow down the iPod charging problem try using another iPod or an alternative cable for charging the iPod if it still doesnt work then it will be advisable to return the unit to your dealer.

Ipod nano rebooting on the docking station

Hello, The problem is that some of the pins onteh docking connector are shorting to others. Shorting the supply on you ipod. Don't do it!

Diagnostic videos and spares for the Bose SoundDock. There are several builds of the Bose SoundDock Original that look identical from the outside. If you visit invebo.com and enter your dock serial number you get access to the resources that tell you which version the dock's internal hardware you have in your dock, diagnostic and self repair videos and what kits you should buy to fix or upgrade to charge or Bluetooth wireless streaming. All spares are supplied on a no-risk 'buy and try' basis.

My docking station keeps making an intermittent noise sort of a blip blip noise whether it is plugged in or not

The problem could be your dock resetting if itis a type B build. I suggest you visit www.invebo.com and enter your dock serial number. (Several builds of Sounddock look identical butthe internal hardware is different) You get access to diagnostic and repair videos and it tells you what pods and phones your dock is compatible with. Also there is a diagnostic video that helps you decide what's wrong and kits and detailed instruction videos that lets you fix the problem yourself. If your dock connector is faulty than you can fit the charge upgrade or upgrade to Bluetooth on a Bose SoundDock Original for less that the cost of a repair. All kits you get a new docking connector of the later, tougher design included in the kit.

I pod charges, plays, but no sound

Easy, I had this problem too. The reason it isn't playing is because its not in all the way. I was getting very frustrated with this, so I kept trying to push it onto the dock to get it all the way down.
Solution:
1. Play a song on your ipod/iphone so you can hear it through the device.
2. Connect your ipod/iphone to the docking station(Bose) so that you hear the chime(This lets you know its charging).
3. Pick up the docking station and firmly press the ipod/iphone down on the connector.
4. Keep pressing it and wiggling around until you hear the music begin to play through the docking station.
It may take a few tries, but you will get it.
Hope this helped!

Does the new bose dock station charge the new ipod touch (32g)?

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.
