1 Power up and hard reset BEFSR41 to factory default (192.168.1.1) settings.
2. Connect a computer to one of BEFSR41's four wired LAN ports
3. Log on to the BEFSR41 by typing 192.168.1.1 into browser address box.
4. Setup
a. Change Device IP Address to not conflict with WRT54G (assuming 192.168.1.1 for WRT54G), other static addresses on your network, nor should it be in the range of the WRT54G's DHCP server addresses. 192.168.1.2 is likely to be a good choice for an address - if not in use on your network.
b. Select Apply
5. DHCP
a. Set DHCP Server to Disable
b. Select Apply
6 Connect a CAT5 cable between one of the numbered LAN ports of the WRT54G and the UPLINK port BEFSR41 (if yours lacks an UPLINK port - connect to one of the numbered LAN ports instead). There should be NO connection to the WAN/ Internet port on the BEFSR41. Do not concern yourself with WAN / Internet page settings on the BESFR41, because they are not connected.
7 Reboot the computers so they can get new, unique IP addresses.
Please rate this reply - good luck!
