NEFF CIRCOFIRM OVEN HAS DIED? ITS 8 YEARS OLD, HAS ALWAYS WORKED WITHOUT FAULT BUT 2 DAYS AGO IT STOPED RESPONDING TO ANY CONTROL, AND THE WINDOW WHERE TEH TEMPERATURE RANGE IS DISPLAYED IS SHOWING -5- OR -S- ACCORDING TO MY WIFE. THE VARIOUSE MENU OPTIONS DO NOT LIGHT UP WHEN SELECTED, THE OVEN LIGHT IS OFF ALSO, TEH ONLY THING THATS SEEMS TO BE WORKING IS THE DIGITAL CLOCK . HAVE TRIED TURNING THE POWER ON AND OFF FOR UP TO A COUPLE OF HOURS IN ORDER TO SEE IF THE OVEN WILL RE-SET. BUT NO JOY, ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT IS WRONG WILL BE APRECIATED. REGARDS MIKE

Without MAKE & MODEL... it would be pure speculation.

Once upon a time (many years ago) the controls were actually required to be restored to manual... to be able to RESET
the oven for normal operation...

These days those BUTTONS have all kinds
of controls & features...

Try looking in your OWNERS MANUAL
by going to MANUALSLIB
ManualsLib Makes it easy to find manuals online

Put in your MAKE & MODEL there...

Oven light switching on and off

which model is it?
switch it off at the mains ie fuse boad...label cooker switch....for 10 seconds, then back on.

It should fit without any problem most oven housings will accomadate most ovens, those in production now, and those made 10 or more years ago.

Smell has started in our 8 month old Neff oven. No obvious reason for it - pretty clean and no unusual food cooked. Any ideas ?

There may be a problem with the cooling or extraction fan on the oven. All Neff appliances come with a two year manufacturers warranty, so I would advise you call them out on 0844 892 8999. If you attempt a repair yourself, you could invalidate the warranty.

it sounds to me that the fan is not working properly. as the oven gets older the fans become weaker and then doesn't blow air over the element at a rate that can the temp down enough..

Neff oven internal wiring colours

red is positive and black is neutral normally on these ovens, dont recall seeing blue and lilac.

Neff oven U1661 shows fault code -5-

We have a similar Neff Oven - it is a child proof lock that you have activated. To deactivate - turn the left hand dial that selects the mode of cooking - three times to the left and back (turn it from 12 oclock to 11 oclock and back) in quick succession.

probable fault to earth of circular element - gets worse when element hot. you will need a megga to confirm this.

check you have power at the clock - the clock terminals not the relay. if not, there is a cut-out stat in the back. check this is still ok. if there is power at the clock then the clock itself may be faulty. you can bypass the clock by joining the terminals to the clock relay and get the oven going this way. another common source of problems is the terminal block where mains comes in and is distributed. these terminal blocks often burn out.

The chid lock is activated!! how did you manage to do that accidentally??? the instruction manual tells you how to disable it from memory it is turning the oven mode selector switch 3 times beetween the light position and off quickly.
