Hi I've got the lg flatron l1954tq computer monitor but it won't seem to show anything when I power up my computer. The blue light on the power button comes on then a little blue rectangle appears on the screen with Korean characters then disappears and the blue light turns yellow. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is it bust forever? Thank you

SOURCE: LG Flatron LCD Power Saving Mode

Hi, September 2008 and still problems happening with the LG screens. Mine is a Flatron W1942T.
I hit the screen as suggested (my old mum was a great believer in " if it won't work kick it", this applied to anything electrical, tele, vacuum cleaner etc.,) and guess what? my old mum was right. The screen came on.
Hope this works if it happens again. I'd turned everything off because of an electrical/thunder storm. Won't do that again.

SOURCE: I have a L194WT LG Flatron monitor. One day it

Same problem started happening two days ago and ever since. I called LG and the product falls under a 3yr product warranty according to them (from my original purchase date of January 20, 2007). They will send packing slips to me so I can send the defective unit back to LG. I was told I am eligible for a replacement monitor - which will be shipped to me within 10 to 14 days (consecutive days, not business) - although I'm not sure what I'm being sent in return. My suspicion is that this monitor issue is a known issue by LG and they are quietly replacing the unit to those who follow through by calling CS.

Tips: Have your original purchase date on hand (in the form of a receipt) just in case they want proof of purchase.

SOURCE: My Lg Monitor wont show screen (Power Button Flashing)

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

SOURCE: No picture lg flatron w2234s blinking blue light

Hi My screen developed exactly the same problem. It appears to be a hardwear problem associated with the screen it's self. continuity test is ok on the lead so I took it back to the shop under warranty and hey presto, the replacement works. I don't know what the problem is but there are a number of other folks on another thread with the same problem and their entries are dated May 09 too.  Dave

Hello my flatron l206wtq-bf doesnt work the light of power flash blue and the monitor doesnt open do you have a solution for me thanks

Hello,

Your unit has a power supply that has failed. When the power board starts failing you may get a wavy display, it may be slow to show a picture or you may just get the flashing power button light that you have. The problems are caused by parts called capacitors that have bulged and failed. Here is a link to a repair guide for the LG L226 that uses the same power supply board as your unit.

The dis-assembly information is almost the same to.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Flatron LG monitor safe mode

Your monitor goes to Power Saving Mode when the signal it is receiving is not correct. In all probability this is not a problem of the monitor itself, rather you should check the connections and the computer the monitor it's connected to. For example you could try a different RGB cable and try it in a different computer.
