Tilt the handle all the way down to the floor - and look at the big pickup hose.
Typically this is a weak spot in the hose, and it plits - just from normal use.

Won't pickup water on rug

I may have already given my best advice but, check the hose line to the extraction tank and make sure there are no cracks in it. This will allow it to **** in air, and therefore reduce the vacuum pressure at the head of the machine, causing it to malfunction.

Cant squirt water, nothing is coming up from the carpet

Try filling soap solution tank with hot water and make sure that the red filter in the pickup tank is not clogged, and always run hot water in solution tank after cleaning carpet. steve

DOES NOT VACUUM NOW

Several possible problems:
1) Did you clean the blue lower pickup container (dirty water) before putting it away?
Take out the pickup container and open it up, check the filter (under the little blue piece on top) and also open up the container itself and clean under the flapper on the "screen".
2) Look inside the housing and check the vac hose that goes from the front of the unit up to the rubber grommet where it goes into the lower pickup container. Is it clogged? If yes, take off the front pickup (the part the runs along the floor in front of the rotating brushes) and run a very narrow lint pickup brush (like for cleaning dryer vents) and clean out the hose. It works great.
3) Check the front pickup for clogs and clean
4) If you are trying to pick up water, make sure the setting is set to wet. If you are trying to use it as a vacuum, set it to dry.

Hope this helps.

Pickup water

The clear shroud covering the front of "hood" has two sheet metal type screws at the bottom in front of the brushes, these two screws also hold the little straight brushes ( one on each side) in place. I found one of these screws had broken it's plastic "socket" and was no longer applying any pressure to the hood, this caused loss of suction and would not pick up any water...You can test this by applying a little pressure to the "clear hood" after you have applied water and shampoo. You should immediately see water entering the pickup reservoir container. I removed the broken plastic "socket" and replaced original screw with a longer wood/sheet metal screw. I think this is a weak point on the cleaner and is easily broken by catching the front lip on any hard object. Hope this helps

What can I do and what part do I need to replace? I have taken it apart and clean it but still won't pickup the water.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright. It sounds to me that you may have a clog or an obstruction or the channel to the suction motor per say might be broken and is not creating the suction needed to pickup the water to the recovery tank. So check with your local factory authorized vac dealer that carries and services Bissell. I will give you the Bissell factory phone # listed below for further questions. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
