Maytag slide in range - MES5752BAW - when you press BAKE or BROIL the power cycles off and the number 30 flashes on the display then the power cycles back on and the clock is reset to 12:01.

Whenever we press "Bake", the display flashes "30", then the clock goes back to 12:01.  That was the first display.  We've replaced the display TWICE under warranty, and with each new display, the same problem exists except that the time resets to some arbitrary time as opposed to 12:01.  In addition to replacing the display twice, I have also thoroughly checked the breaker panel including checking and tightening ALL grounds and neutrals.  Voltage is normal to the oven outlet.  I even replaced the pigtail just for the heck of it.  Problem remains.

Can hear and feel the fan running, when I push cancel to stop the fan 30 shows on display and then the time of 10:39.

Maytag just replaced a slide in range we had less than a year with the same problem. Less than a week of owning the new one we are getting the same error/reset on this model.

We've had the same problem. We bought this in March, '08 and noticed a problem within a short period of time. We finally called for service in October. The technician replaced the panel, but the new one started doing the same thing almost right away. I called Maytag to inquire about it. The customer service rep said she didn't have any notes pertaining to a widespread problem with it. I told her I was concerned about ours going out of warranty before the problem would be fixed and she extended it for another year. All of y'all may want to do the same thing. We have a technician coming tomorrow to replace it again. I'm going to tell him that I'm going to keep calling every week, if I need to, in order to get Maytag's attention to this problem. I don't want a "fix", I want a corrected panel- one that's perfect- straight from the factory!!

Same exact problem as you all. Two techs a new clock overlay and still the same problem. Even tried the ferrite beads. I think the problem is a batch of defective clock overlay display units.

I had similar issue with my Maytag slide in range MES5552BAB. Pressing Bake or Broil would sporatically cause clock display to go blank, show "30" then reset clock to 12:00. Under warranty, the service technicians replaced the clock unit twice. On last visit the range performed the error while technician present.

The suspected problem is that the clock unit is experiencing high frequency interference.
The proposed solution is to place noise suppressors on L1, L2 and Ground wires at the clock. (Noise suppressor: Ferrite beads, Sears Part #12001500.) Reverse L1 and L2 at the pigtail terminal block.

My proposed solution above was the fix given to our warranty service technician, by Maytag direction. Supposedly this had solved the issue in the past for others.

After the technician added the ferrous beads, and reversing L1 and L2 at pigtail terminal block, our oven worked perfectly for two days....but the problem is coming back and more frequently.

I have written a letter to Maytag customer service and directing them to see this page for others having same problem.

Maytag has replaced our slide in range (model #MES5552BAB) with a new range of the same model. Within a few days this range was having the same issues of choosing bake or broil and display going blank, showing "30", then blank again. Clock randomly resets.

Last technicial to see our range said the "30" was an engineering/programming code. Usually seen when range first gets plugged in and unit does a check of the electric door lock. Our model does not have an electric door lock.

In hopes of narrowing down the cause factors for this error, we do not have wi fi networking in our home, no cordless phones. No known cause of high frequency interference. Filters on numerous wires did not solve.

We appreciate the dedication Maytag has shown to resolve this issue for us: 8 service calls and now a product replacement. We are frustrated that the product seems to have a permanent flaw.

There are some who believe it may be the newer high frequecy cordless phones that cause the problems with display units.

Tried the reversing L1 L2 and ferrite chokes at the wires in to the clock overlay and still same problem, any other solutions?

They last 3-5 years depending how much you use your stove.
Disconnect POWER to the stove, remove the screws holding the lower element to the back of the inside of the stove, pull out carefully and remove the 2 screws holding the wires on. Check the element with an ohm meter, it should read 0 (zero or very close) resistance on an ohm meter. You may also take it to a store that sells replacements ($25) and they may check it for you.

When I press BAKE to preheat the oven or CLOCK to set the time the display goes blank, then the number 30 appears, and then the clock time resets itself. I can still use the oven to preheat or bake, but...

I have the same problem. I bought it new in the fall of 2007. They replaced the control panel but that didn't help. Next they replaced the whole range with a new one, same model, still the same problem. They told me it was a problem with my electric in my house. Then they said it was a strange electro-magnetic field in my neighborhood and I would have to buy a different brand?
One time with the original stove the oven quit working and I had to re-set the breaker. Everything still works but the clock is always wrong.
We bought all Maytag stuff, including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. The kitchen stuff is 4 years old. The washer and dryer are 3 years old. We have had this issue with the stove, the washing machine broke and they had to replace the whole drum assembly, and last week my refrigerator broke. Very disappointed with Maytag stuff.
So has anyone found a solution?

Kenmore 9114554590 will not bake or broil

The clock/display panel is faulty. There are a few relays on the display that have to work. If the clock is just flashing once with each keypress the the relays are not functioning. The clock/diplay will need to be replaced

Cannot figure out how to make oven work

Hi, try this and see if will help you. Most of the Gemini models are the same.

To set Bake:
1. Press the Bake pad.
• BAKE will flash.
• 000 will flash in the display.
2. Select the oven temperature. Press the
Autoset 0 pad for 350° F or the appropriate
number pads.
• Each additional press of the Autoset 0 pad will increase
the temperature by 25 degrees.
• The oven temperature can be set from 170° to 550°.
3. Press Bake pad again or wait four seconds.
• BAKE will stop flashing and light in the display.
