Maxtor One Touch 4 plus 1 terabyte external hard drive would need a 12 volt 2 amp power adapter with a positive inside tip. That is if yours is the same model.
all of the documentation and downloads for this product are now available via Seagate, as Maxtor was acquired. They are still supporting all the drives Maxtor produced for the normal periods of time.
You can buy a USB to USB mini cable at almost any store with PC accessories, even Walmart. Buy a high quality one since the drive is powered from the USB 2.0 port. Good Luck
Hey guys I had the same problem... All the drivers for the device are
inside the drive. Maxtor doesn't have any updates availble because you don't need
any. What they've neglected to let any of us know is the power supply
provided with the unit isn't powerful enough to run it. Replace the
original power supply with another one and this will solve the
problem. I replaced mine with an old laptops power supply, the fit was
alittle tight but believe me it works.
