Question about Mitac Mio 168 Pocket PC

Mio 168 problems

Unable to install any programs,activesync working ok and importing email ok
but when itry to install programs,ie byki. nothing happens.
the unit is 2 years old but has not been over used.

have checked with driver detective,and it said mio168 is up to date.one thing i forgot to mention is i can install gps destinator or tom
tom but not programs.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware at all? or installing updates first?

I would try resetting the unit quick and see if that helps, Remove all power sources and let it sit for an hour and see if for some reason that helps.

How exactly are you trying to download the programs?

PDA, MIO 168. Loose or worn female charging housing. ie Orange charging light will not stay on. The male has to be 'waggled' for the charging light to remain on. Can it be replaced / repaired?

Yes , the connector can be changed but it is very fiddly. See this link

Installing software problem

Well, how about trying to redownload the driver for the device and see if that helps at all, if not, I will try to figure out what else it could be,

MIo 168 can't turn off flight mode

Mitac Mio 168 sound - adapter 2.5 to 3.5 mm jack

Hi,
I believe there is something wrong, its a normal stereo socket.
I use differend 3.5 to 2.5 adapter (standard, from the shelf)without any problem to connect an FM Stereo-Transmitter.
The best solution to connect your car radio, its wireless.

Mitac Mio 168 won't go past ALIGN SCREEN

The touch panel on the LCD unit is defective and needa to be replaced with a new Compleet new LCD+TP unit.

If you have a screen gaurd on your Touch panel, try to remove it and check again, if it doean't help ---> new LCD+TP unit

Lost installation CD

Doesn't that use Activesync? http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/default.mspx USB driver is at http://www.mio-tech.be/en/support/168-downloads.php Hope that helps. Good luck

Clear your IE Cache. Go to IE, menu, options, memory and clear all that junk too.
