hello before you buy a bulb have tried the resetting the picture go into the menu on picture setting have half way down it should say reset click it .it should brighten up the screen
It sounds like the blue CRT (picture tube) is failing. The part number for this is 8-733-575-25 but you will need a technician to replace it for you as there is mechanical and electrical alignment to with with it. At that point it probably isn't cost effective to repair the TV. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.
You will need to replace the "HA" board wich is the control panel and remote reciever (wich has failed). Here is a link to the part number and where to purchase from.
