Grandson dropped a key in back of TV (LTdvd20 DYNEX}. Suspect it hit something on the power supply cca. I measured the voltages at the 2 connectors and all appear ok except I do not know what B-adj and B on are suppose to be. Only getting 5vdc on 3 outputs and 4vdc on the other. Should it be higher?
When power up the tv it flashes dvd mode on the lcd and then goes black. Sound is ok. I can get the mode to change some times when pushing source at turn on. DVD player runs and only get sound from it. No video. Green power light comes on and the mode displays briefly, does not look that dim. Grandson dropped a key in back of TV (LTdvd20 DYNEX}. Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
There is a manual switch on the bottom of the TV. Flick it on and TV screen should come on. The power light will come with this switch off but the screen won't. It had me cursing for a while until I saw the little switch.
The power supply voltages might look good on an oscilliscope or using a
DC meter, but that doesn't really tell you if the supply is good.
Your TV has an unusual symptom, however 99% of the problems on these
TVs are caused by the power supply. I have had 3220s that won't power
on, the remote or controls on the TV won't work, or the unit blanks out
and all sorts of other odd problems. The power supply can test fine,
but if you substitute it the TV will work fine.
Sorry to say you're up a creek. The good news is that just about any
5,12,24V power supply for a 32:" TV will work if you are comfortable
rewiring the connectors. I have done this a few times and rescued the
TVs from an early grave (I'm actually just about to start on another
one now). The pinout is written on the board, and make sure the power
supply you want to use also has the pinouts marked on the board.
