Wirlpool frig. Model ET216KXHT01 Type C21TFA00 Water is coming from someplace and filling the bottom of the frig. Everything else seems to be working correctly. What could be the problem?

The noise is most likely your fan which on most frigs is on the bottom.
There should be a smaller panel made of heavy duty cardboard with a bunch of screws, remove it and look for a small fan about the same size and a PC tower fan, turn the thermostat all the way up to set it off and listen for the noise.
The maker of your frig should have a replacement fan.
If not type in your model and serial number on the internet and someplace should carry a replacement.
Ebay is also a good place to search for the part you need.

most of the time when that happens first thing you do is make sure water is getting to the solenoid for the ice maker if you have a water despencer you have water the solenoid for the ice maker is normally found in the back of frig near bottom pull frig out till you can get behind it look where water line goes into the frig solenoids for water and ice maker should be there. leave frig plugged up have someone use the water despencer feel whitch one that is replace the other one

The defrost drain in the freezer is clogged. The defrost water then overflows and runs down the vent where the cool air enters the fresh food section and makes a puddle on the top shelf. You may defrost the unit over nite or have a tech come check it. If you just defrost it and there is some type of debris in the drain line that will not melt then you will still need a service man. Or if you feel brave, and can be totally careful so you will not get cut remove the back wall of the refrigerator after you unplug it and get some towels and boil some water. Gentle pour the hot water into the area below the evaporator, ( the thingy with all the aluminum fins), You will eventually hear the water emptying into the pan beneath the refrigerator. Once you hear that you can reassembly and resume operations.

water valve is faulty or the fill level switch is faulty. the only other thing it could be is if the tube going from the fill switch to the tub has either come off or gotten clogged.

The water is coming from the defrost cycle in the top of unit . It drains down at the back of the light cover into a tube at the back. Get a phillips screwdriver and take it down to be sure tube is inserted properly. Get model number and go to.appliancepartspros.com to get a diagram.

Blocked drain line for when the freezer goes into defrost.

This is a sign of a short and should be looked at immediately. A smell like that is a sign of something burning. I could be the start relay and start capacitor with overload. But I would not sleep with the possibility of a fire. I will look over your model and see if I can find what this could be, Sea Breeze

I believe the problem is with the drain line when the frig goes into defrost mode

see if you can trace the drain line that oes into the evaporator pan at the bottom of the frig

facing the frig remove the bottom panel that goes across the front and pull out the evaporator tray to see if it is dry

take a flashlight and see if you can see a plastic tube that the water should be dripping into the pan

try to trace the tube up into the frig ther is some type of catch basin inside the frig on the back panel usually around middle area

you most likely have a short in the ice maker ..the ice should be ejected before the water is call for... you need a new ice make or if you can change the ice maker head let me know and I can help

Do you have a Dog ??? I had a customer who had a problem like this once.................Only to find out in the middle of the night the dog jumped up and with his nose pressed the water dispenser..If not plz check inside the freezer and see if your drain is clogged pull the bottom drawer out and look on the back wall..
PS: the pan even with a clear drain will not fill up the condenser fan with the heat from the condenser will evaparate the water after a defrost cycle
