/121 is not reported as an error, try disconnecting power cord for 15/30 minutes to reset the typewriter.
Error Code 121 means the keyboard is not recognized, check the connectors from the
keyboard to be sure they are plugged in properly.
Try this turn it off remove the batteries, wait 30 sec. turn on all settings will go to default, memory will be cleared for any fault code stored.

where do I find the connectors?
when will I hear back? I checked the connections that I could see under the ribbon, disconnected the batteries, waited and I still have the problem. could the batteries create the problem?
I have an IBM wheelwriter 3500 by Lexmark. When it turns on an icon of a box with an upper left to lower right slash along with 121 is shown. The machine beeps and stops. I was advised by another tec from your company to check the leads from the keyboard but I don't know where to find them. I checked under the ribbon, removed the batteries and left the machine off for 30 seconds. No help. any solution?
