Hi, I'm having issues with my current set up using two belkin powerline HD (1gbs) adapters. Upstairs I have the virgin media modem, which connects to a Belkin router (about 5 years old). The router then has an ethernet output going into a belkin powerline adapter. The xbox is downstairs and picks up the ethernet from the other powerline adapter. Now. Wirelessly - my router appears to be assigning IP addresses automatically without issue. However, I have no end of trouble when connected with the powerlines. The router will not automatically assign the xbox and ip address, and when I choose to enter one manually it is very hit and miss, sometimes working, sometimes not. It seems to be dependant on what I have turned on first. If its not IP addresses its DNS, and vice versa. Often I'll leave the settings the same, come back an hour later and its fine. Do you have any help please? Thanks, James

Reset the powerline and Try with a different network ID. Try with a secure and unsecured powerline network to see if it works that way

Using belkin gigabit powerline adapter with a wirless router

Try to configure the 2 routers to work with one another when they are next to each other using standard ;an cable. Once working the powerline should work fine. If you try to configure them when they are apart you have 2 things that could be causing problems to take out the powerline to begin with, then when they are working close, move them apart

I have just bought Belkin Powerline AV starter kit. I have a Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router connected through a Carrier PoE adapter. I have tried to connect my Sony TV and PS3 through the powerline units...

Try reset the device and start a new configuration. It seems that your networwork have issues between the router and the powerlines. All need to be in the same network as per router configuration.Connect one adapter to your router and plug it into an available electrical outlet. Plug the second adpter into an available wall outlet and connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer.

pd: OS to use the adapters; Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

I have 4 Belkin Powerline adapters, two F5D4074 and two F5D4072. On Belkin website they are declared compatible, but I can't manage to transfer the password between the 72 and the 74, with the result that...

There are two standards for powerline: HomePlug 1.0, which has a maximum link speed of 85Mbps and HomePlug AV, which has a maximum link speed of 200Mbps. You can use the two standards within the same building, but they are not compatible with each other.

HomePlug 1.0 - F5D4050, F5D4070. Powerline Turbo (F5D4071, F5D4073)

HomePlug AV - Powerline AV (F5D4072 + F5D4074 + F5D4077 + F5D4081). Powerline AV+ (F5D4075 + F5D4079) + Powerline HD (F5D4076 + F5D4078) and Powerline HD500 (F5D4085)

Also try to rest the adapters and reconfigure them again.

Trouble expanding my Belkin Powerline network

F5D4075 uses Homeplug AV standard and F5D4071 used Home plug 1.0 Turbo. Both are not compatible to each other. So if you form a network, you have to form with the same standard.
Secondly, You need just one Powerline adapter on the router and you can have 2 or 3 adapter connected to 1 computer each and all these computers can connect to the 1 adapter on the router. You do not have to use it in pairs

My Belkin G+ router is set up but not working

Hi,

Based on your description, the only thing that I can think of that would be the issue is a router to modem compatibility issue. If it's, please attempt to use the same type of modem as is used in your home to help overcome the issue. Thank you.
