My canon pixma mp258, the black and color ink light is blinking and say that the ink is running low.plz help me

Solution

1. Press START - Devices and Printers
2. Right-click the Canon MP258 series - select Printing preferences
3. Click Maintenance - Cleaning
4. Select All Colors BK, C, M, Y - Execute
5. Wait until the process is finished (Do not start another operation until the cleaning has finished).
6. Click Print Check Pattern OK




If the results print out like this, there are two possibilities:
1. Red ink in the cartridge runs out. Solution: injecting with red ink
2. If the red ink has been filled, and check pattern is still not out, meaning the color cartridge error. Solution: replace the cartridges

Don't buy Canon as they absolutely ROB you for the ink!! They are worse than ****** dealers! At least HP allows you to use non (rip-off) OEM cartridges without all the hassle! My printer will be thrown out after the ink runs out as I will not be ripped-off by Canon again!

kindly replce the catridges and reinstall the printer driver.

try to run a maintenance page or to clean the printhead go to your printer panel and select maintenance..and print maintenance page ..or to wipe it on a wet cloth in order to avoid clogs..

ok, first of all try turning off the printer then reboot the system, then go to START click on control panel then click on PRINTERS then right click on your Printer Model then click on properties, then try to reset the ink counters afterwards try rebooting the system.

First of all to make your ink last longer you need to be using the Canon PG-40 and CL-41 instead of the Canon PG-30 and CL-31. The 40's are the higher capacity versions of the 30's. If you mean to ask why your color cartridge is going empty when you don't print much color, it is because when you print in black and white your printer mixes in some color with the black. There is no way to stop your printer from mixing color ink with the black.

Secondly, to run the software your printer has to be in service mode. Do that by
- unplug cable
- press and hold "power" button
- plug cable
- press "resume" and release
- release the "power" button
At this stage, your computer will detect a new hardware

Run the software.

Go to this link. Type "error e 2 3" in the search window and click the Search button. Try the troubleshooting steps provided. If the error still persists, you may need to have the machine serviced.
