Cannot edit the video files on PC or Mac

I finalized the disk and tried to edit the clips with Sonic, but I am getting and run time error with video titles. Then I burned the small disk on to a regular DVD so I could try it in the Mac. The movie clips will play, but there is no way to edit them in imovie This is really frustrating. I am trying to do a project for my son and need to edit these clips!

I have resolved this problem using nero recode to convert "sony"-DVD in mpeg4 files. So it work correctly with imovie, but you always need a PC to convert file, and the quality is worst that the quality of the original DVD...and it take you a lot of time

Sony and mac do not play nice together! the video was recorded in mpeg 2 and mac likes to see a different file format-sony will work with 08 versions of imovie-try to use moviemaker-free in your menus- in Vista if possible-try to stream disc from camcorder to computer using usb on camcorder-stick w/windows if at all possible-use a pinnicale converter box to convert av output from camcorder to usb-about 50-100.00.

I am having issues burning dvd or blue ray from my mac with adobe premiere elements. It is an external burner connected via USB works fine with final cut but has error message with elements. Says " device...

Try burning an iso image file instead from the program, then you can use the built in mac software to burn that disk image file to a disc. Sometimes in video editing there is a problem with the process of compiling the video to a disk. Try a simple very short project with a dvd-rw (reusable) disc to see if it still gives the error.
