Canon Imageclass MF 6550 - Can't print labels... help!

We just got this printer and it prints fine. But when I try to print labels through Microsoft Word, it gives the error "bell" and won't print. I have tried the side auxiliary tray, and the regurlar tray. Normally, I should be able to print the labels from my computer and the machine should know where to expect the paper to print it from. I am going crazy trying to figure this out and the manual doesn't say anything about this problem (at least that I could find). Please help... thanks!

Trying to print labels to my MF6550. Keep getting the error bell. Says I need to change paper size - which I have done upon multiple occasions. Nothing I pick seems to work. Just prints out blank.

Ugh I love and hate this printer! It prints great but when it comes to envelopes and labels it sucks!!! I can't figure out how to print envelopes!

We have found a solution. The multipurpose tray can only be set for one type of paper at a time, either labels, paper, or envelopes. If you go to print an envelope, it must be set to envelope (obviously). For labels, change the paper type to labels. I'll put a quick list of buttons to push...each slash meaning "press ok"...Press Additional functions/ #1 Common Settings/#10 MP tray/press ok/press ok/#1 Paper size/OK/Com10 (for envelopes) or LTR for a sheet of labels/if LTR is selected, choose option #2 for paper type and click labels. That should fix your problem! Then of course switch it back to envelopes if you need to. A pain, but doable. Another option is loading your labels into the main paper tray, but that's dangerous and tends to cause paper jams (according to Canon, though I haven't had any stick yet). Enjoy your printer (and your $150 cartridges). Any questions, email me [email protected]

I have called canon with this problem more than once and they keep telling me that I am using a "paper" that is not supported. I finally gave up and ended up telling them that I am now going to use my cheap HP printer because it can do what it's suppose to.

Try printing a test page. Is it also blank? If so, you should check your ink system (cartridges full, etc.)

How come my Canon ImageClass MF4122 printer gives fuzzy images?

That is best bet since it appears that your print head is fubar and Canon charges a fortune for them. Cheaper to get a new printer with warranty.
