this seems like a no boot / no video kind off issue and mostly is coz of corruptions in softwares or drivers, try booting the computer in safe mode. if it does, then take a data backup. i would not recommend experimenting in this issue as it can crash the computer.

Apparently your Acer cannot find the operating system. As soon as the Acer logo comes up, there should appear in one of the bottom corners "F" & a number should appear. Immediately start pressing that F number (top row of keyboard). This should take you to a boot screen. Scroll down to boot sequence. Hit enter. Make sure boot-up sequence is CD or floppy drive first, second should be HDD, then escape. Restart computer. Should then boot off CD drive. I am assuming you have an operating system (XP, windows, etc.). Let me know if this doesn't work.
Windows may not be starting due to a driver problem. In any case, see if you can get into the Windows Advanced Options Menu as follows... 1. have the ac adapter connected 2. power on the laptop and watch the screen 3. when the Acer logo is showing, press F8 repeatedly 4. Windows Advanced Options Menu should now start 5. once you are in the Menu, use the up and down arrow keys to select an option You could try starting with ... Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) OR Safe Mode where you could do a System Restore to an earlier date when the system was working If none of this works and you don't have any user data that needs to be saved, then do as follows. All Acer netbooks have a factory install image on a hidden partition of the hard disk. Suggest you should re-install the original windows factory image. All user data on the C: drive will be cleared by Acer eRecovery which you would start up as follows.... 1. have the netbook connected to its AC adapter which is plugged into AC power line 2. power on the netbook and watch the screen as it starts up 3. when the acer logo is showing, hold down the Alt key and press F10 repeatedly 4. until screen indicates Acer eRecovery is starting 5. once eRecovery is loaded, follow the directions given on the screen
You have first turn on "boot from cd" in bios menu (ie. where u see the ACER logo when u turn oin the laptop, the first screen you see). This can be done by pressing the hotkey (usually, F2, Del, F12) it depends on the manufacturers. After that save and exit. Reboot with the cd in the drive, wait for "press any key to boot from cd...." and that's it!
what you can do is-hold down the power button until all the lights go off.once it is done turn on the pc and start tapping the f8 key repeatedly.it will take you to a screen which says advanced boot options.here using the up and down arrow key select the option last known good configuration and hit enter.if everything goes fine your system should boot without a problem.
