Blank Screen Well my cameras screen is blank when i try to take pictures it doesnt work all of it is blank it take pictures but when i look at the pictures all of it is blank i love my camera but i dont know what to do i need help...and fast!! The shutter works fine..everything works fine but i dont know what up wit my screen i need help please somebody help me!!

Don't try to fix it yourself. If it is new, it is still under Nikon's one year warranty. Contact Nikon at 1-800-NIKON-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday.

Try to manually make it so that it is set to outdoor settings. Or maybe try low brightness and no flash.

If you can play back captured images without any problem then your camera has a faulty CCD sensor. If you can get hold of a new CCD sensor block for this model somehow then you can install it yourself. Otherwise camera has to go to your Nikon agent.

This Camera has an CCD issue. It seems that the CCD of the Camera is gone bad. However, you may try resetting the Camera to the factory settings. If the issue persists, try power resetting the Camera. To power reset, remove the battery of the Camera and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and reinsert the battery after one minute and check the operation. If the issue still persists, the service is required.

since this is a S-series sony camera, it might have the same design as the dscs40.so you may want to use try this fix...this white blank screen is actually an issue with the lcd ribbon wire not making contacts.what you can do (at times this is able to resolve this issue) is to tap and put some pressure on the sony logo or mark at the bottom of the lcd screen.if it doesnt work, service might be required.hope this helps.thanks :)

Hi, When you say the screen is "blank" Is it totally blank or do the icons appear on screen? can you review any previous pictures etc?
As the camera still powers up it is possible that the ribbon for the screen has popped out of it's socket.

There is a problem with your camera's circuit board.
You need expert help and repair.

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)

Is the battery dead? Try taking it out and charging it, then put it back into the camera.

Also, you can try using another battery of the same type.
