PPT2846 Dies Whenever Scan Trigger is Pushed

I have 2 Symbol PocketPC's model number PPT 2846 that shut down whenever the scan trigger is pressed.

Thought it might be a battery/power issue however I have used several good batteries with same results. All settings and configurations are correct.

Anyone experieinced this and how is it corrected?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a faulty laser moule, which overtaxes / shorts accross the battery, I am unsure whether this is user servicable, and may require a prefessional repair to replace the laser pack.

Probably the trigger module. The small switch mounted on the PCB assembly directly behind the trigger in the bottom shell goes bad.

I have a barcode scanner Symbol S/N M1J82M51E. When scanning the item barcode it makes very low volume. How to increase the bipping scanning volume for the Symbol Scanner?

1. Press and hold the trigger for an extended period of time (approximately 5 seconds). The scanner cycles through three settings (Low, Medium, High) emitting a 2-beep tone at each setting.
2. To select a particular setting, release the trigger after you hear the desired 2-beep tone.

How can I program LS2208 for automatic trigger

The scanner can not be programmed for automatic trigger. There is a switch in the handle of the scanner that is activated by a magnet. There is a stand you can place the scanner in that will make it scan automatically. There are two different part numbers for the stand 20-61019-01R for the white and 20-61019-02R for the black.
