Electrolux Icon Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator, I am having problems with the ice maker, it is constantly freezing up and quits making ice, then I have to remove the tray portion to thaw out the ice maker, how do I fix this freezing issue?

sounds like some gears in the I / M are stripped. you will probably have to replace the icemaker.

The plastic water tub that fills up the ice maker keeps dipping into the ice makers even after I shut the water off and of course freezes and makes a mess. Why is that? What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks

Ice maker could be stuck with frozen ice on the rotator look over and if you see some turn ice maker off and use hairdryer to free up

i am having exact same problem, also had repair men out mulitple times, i am ready to SCREAM. someone please suggest a fix

pull the ice tray out, on the bottom of the left side there's a metal rod that needs to be repositioned into the tooth gear.

You will want to make sure it stays in the off position or it will constantly cycle thinking it is making ice and burn out the water valve coil. If you are definitely not going to hook it up removing the ice maker will accomplish the same thing and give you a few more inches of storage.
