Question about Lexmark X6100 Flatbed Scanner

Open Question

My Lexmark X6100 scanner is not scanning the entire image

Hi there
My Lexmark X6100 flatbed scanner is scanning most of my document, however several words and images are left out. Sometimes strange symbols appear on the new document. I am continuing to experience this problem despite attempts to scan onto MSWord, PowerPoint and Acrobat Reader etc.
Please help.

SOURCE: Scan multiple page with X4550

The 4550 will not allow multi page scanning into a single doc using the provided software. You should try another scan software that is TWAIN or WIA compatible. Those should work okay if you are using a USB connection.

SOURCE: hello i have the lexmark all in one

Have you gone through the printer alignment procedure? This is especially necessary for scanning and copying. Also, make sure you're getting the document placed correctly on the scanner glass, and that the glass is free of dirt and oil. The impurities on the glass will cause the light to defract and make a mess of images.

I have a Lexmark 6150 and have misplaced my disk. I have a new computer and need to scan a document. I'm told I need to insert the OCR application located in my OCR directory of which I do not have. HELP!

The OCR application/software can only be installed using the installation cd. It's not available for download. I advise you to call Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK (1-800-539-6275) for the installation cd. They can better assist you with this request. They might be able to send you one for free. If you need more assistance, leave a comment. I'll get right back to it.

I have vista and my x6100 lexmark printer not responding please help. i when on the lexmark website no help

It looks like the X6100 series of printers are supported on Vista starting with model # 6150 through 6190 Pro.

Based on the above information, I would say that the X6100 is not supported on Vista.

How do I get the printer to print

Click on the printer icon at the bottom right of the screen. It should bring you to the print queue.

Make sure that the print queue has been released. Sometimes the queue will be in a "Hold" status.

You can also release each print job by clicking on the job and directing the queue to send the job to the printer.

Lexmarkx125 will scan larger pictures but smaller ones.

Here are some instructions from the Lexmark X63 which was similar to the X125.

The Lexmark X63 uses a sheet fed scanner, intended to scan 8 1/2 x11 inch paper.
  • To scan a document between 5 1/2 inches and 8 3/4 inches wide, center the document between the paper feed guides leading into the scanner and make sure the document is held straight,. Do not bend the document as it is fed into the scanner.
  • To scan photos or pictures that are 5 1/2 inches wide or smaller, you will need to use a flatbed scanner, or "mat" the image into a regular letter-size paper and scan the entire page. When the scan process is complete, crop out the picture using the AUTO CROP option in the Scan and Copy Control program or the photo-editing software.
