I have a GE refrigerator model number PSC25SG SA SS which has Problem that in every couple days the freezer and the refrigerator display panels display out of their setting ranges. For example, the freezer panel displays 9 degree (0 degree is normal and the setting is 0 degree) and refrigerator panel displays 44 degree (37 degree is normal and the setting is 37). I have to use turbo cool function to bring them back to their normal temp. 1) What is the problem? 2) How do I fix it?

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Not sure if the compressor is running. If not, you'll need a repair man. Since fans are running, most likely the thermistor. Also, if you haven't unplug from the wall, wait 10 seconds then plug back in; this may reset the control board. The link below may help. GE Refrigerator Not Cold Enough

We have a GE Profile refrigerator/freezer Model GSC23KSTA SS. The control panel will not light up. We tried to unplug the unit for a couple minutes but had no response. Now it is also making an annoying...

Three things. There's another board on the back of that fridge. Could be the display board or there's a wire harness down at the bottom of the freezer door. Pull the bottom grill off and check to see if there is any corrosion on that connector. GE's are notorious for that. If that checks clear then without looking at it I would say with 98% sure, it's the board in the back...about 189 dollars. Call GE (customer relations) chances are good that they will replace that part, but you would be responsible for any labor. It's a quick fix (20 minutes if that) so labor should not be that bad...hope this helps.

GE model PSC23SGRC SS refrigerator freezer door disassembly

Access from front of freezer door. Trim is just pushed into friction holders. Selector area snaps in. Phillip screws under that removes ice shoot.

I HAVE A GE PROFILE FRIDGE, WITH BOTTOM FREEZER. THE DISPLAY WORKS SOMETIMES OTHER TIMES IT IS BLANK. ALSO EVERY NOW THEN I GET A CLICKING SOUND FROM THE COMPUTER BOARD IN THE BACK, SOMETIMES IT LAST FOR A...

This is the main control board failing. My symptoms were identical (intermittent display and clicking), and eventually the clicking didn't go away and the freezer got hot. I replaced the main board yesterday and all is well (display works and no clicking). I was able to find the correct part number using the GE website (entered refrigerator model PD22S1S and then selected PDS22S1SARSS from the drop-down list). My part number was WR55X10656. The GE price was shown as $157.50, but I bought mine from ApplianceZone.com for $101.68. Hope this helps.
