Okay, fist, you need to make sure the player is good (boots up, goes to menu, etc.). next, you need to put all of the songs into media player, then SYNCH them to the player. If you can't do that, try putting all of the songs into a folder called "music" and then put them into a subfolder called "albums." it should work shortly afterwards.
how did you delete them?
did you delete them instantly from the file page or through the program they probably gave you with your mp3?
Also, if you removed your mp3 without clicking the "safely remove hardware" button before disconnected your mp3 with the computer, than it may have caused confussion with your hardware.
i have an ipod touch and when i drag songs over like your talking about and its in the middle of syncing the song wont get put on the device til the next sync so let it sync up upplug it and then plug it back in and see if the songs start syncing to your device
If you put songs on there from sites like spiralfrog.com or napster.com they are protected by licenses, they expire on your player causes you to have to deleted the licensed songs from your player and put them bac on.If you dont want this to happen again you have to find unprotected versions of your songs. try rapidlibrary.com.

You can format the whole player..and that will delete everything off the player...use windows media player to format the player....once you format you shouldnt have any songs in there...
