Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook

Webcam problems We have an HP Pavilion dv1000 and our webcam periodically has a green vertical stripe thru the middle of our video sessions with people. How do we get rid of it? Also, how do we change the coloring for the picture of us portrayed to the people on the other end of a webcam session? We always come across with a yellowish tint and kind of dark...

Cannot opened the webcam

This kind of depends what led to the problem, and some other factors such as operating system, physical state of the device, if you made any changes recently, etc, but you could check your device manager, or try reinstalling your device drivers, you could roll back to LKGC. Give this a shot if nothing changes post back with a little more info.
Heres a link to HP for the Pavillion dv1000.

My youcam is not working with skype..every time i try to call ...thru video...the skype get closed

If what you simply need is to video Chat, you can simply change your video settings from
  • VIDEO SETTINGS (change the webcam from YOUCAM TO HP WEBCAM)
Now try a video call and see!Later on you if you want, you can change it back to Youcam...
1.Tools then Options

2VIDEO SETTINGS then HP WEBCAM and SAVE mapatsa_4.jpg

Please let me know if it works for you!

My integrated webcam is not displaying

can you access the webcam using the utility (hp webcam not SKype)? Sometimes Skype loses sync with devices. double-check your Skype version too.

Webcam to dark, donot know how to adjust

I have the same problem on an HP Pavilion dv1000.
This is what I have discovered. The properties of the webcam (contrast/brightness etc) are not available via Windows anywhere that I can find.
However if you install Skype you can access these properties, its free, its a good voip client and you can turn off the autoload at startup. Go to Tools > Options > Video Settings and you will see a button marked "Webcam Settings" under the "Select webcam:" dropdown. Click on this and you have access to the webcam properties, I found checking the Low Light option on the Advanced tab makes the webcam image much brighter, you can play with the other settings but I didnt bother.
If you then go to My Computer > HP Webcam you will see that the webcam is also brighter there, this seems to be the case even if you exit Skype. Haven't tested it in other apps but it should work ok.
Hope this helps
