In order to diagnose the problem I need your help.

Have you hooked the dish receiver directly into a tv or another device and had it working?

Have you tried a different cable at all?

Have you tried pressing the ant. button on the remote or tv/vcr button?

Please update me with as much info as possible and I will figure out where the problem is coming from. thanks

Recent IR20.0 remote problem developed after 2 years without any issues. The remote no longer communicates to my 722k dvr reciever while my LG Tv is turned on. I have Hdmi run directly from reciever to my...

Hi Robert, my name is Cheri Torres and I work on the Social Media Team at DISH. It sounds like your remote is experiencing IR(Infrared) interference from your LG TV. You can resolve this issue by converting your TV1 remote to UHF(Ultra High Frequency) instead of IR. In order to do this you will need a UHF remote, the 20.0 remote is only an IR remote. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your account number or phone number on the account so that I can look into getting a UHF remote sent out. Thank you.

Sd dish reciever not recognized by hdtv tuner

Hey dgrines81!

I would need more information to provide an accurate solution including what model of receiver, but it sounds like you have an SD receiver hooked up to a HD TV.

Our SD receivers can show picture on an HD TV, they just need the correct cable. If your TV has the spot, I would recommend using RCA (Red, Yellow, White) cables. Plug those in to the receiver and the TV and then change the input. If the problem continues feel free to reach me here, or at [email protected].

I have Dish network. I want to record TV onto the VCR, but cannot get channels to record. i can playback videotapes and the record works, but cannot figure out how to get the signal to record.

The output of the Dish Network box should be hooked to the input of the VCR.
The output of the VCR should be hooked to the input of the TV.
The VCR should be on channel 3 to record. Select channel to be recorded on the Dish Network box.

It sounds like you have Dish Network box output hooked to TV input.
& VCR output hooked to an aux. input on the TV.

Picture is really snowy in the bedroom and we have another lg tv in the family room and it has a great picture on it they are both hooked up to the same dish network receiver but it just started like 4 or...

Hello, I hope this was resolved, but if not, here are some steps to run through. It sounds like the tv that is showing only snow is on an incorrect channel and/or input. The correct channel is different depending on what tv it is that is snowy. If TV2 is snowy where there is no receiver box, that tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73. If TV1 is snowy, where the receiver is, then you will want to make sure that the tv is on either channel 3 or 4, and it usually needs to be on an input as well. Anything ranging from video1 to HDMI3. Also, make sure that you have a blue, green, and yellow light on the front of the receiver box. If none of these steps help, unplug the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. If this still does not help, or you have any other questions, please e-mail me at [email protected].

bring the tv out to the main tv and hook it up to that connection to determine if it's the TV or the connection. Or try hooking up a VCR to the tv while the TV is set to CH 3. Do you get a blank picture or a snowy Picture?

Hooking up a tv

Hi first of all are you using scart leads to plug into each device here is how it should be set up ok
1. Scart lead from dish network into vcr
2. then other scart from vcr into tv
3. Now ti recieve the signal from the dish network you need to have the telly on the right av channel so that its picking up the signal from the vcr.
you can test this by changing the channel on the vcr controll or direct via buttons on vcr.
If the channels change then your on the right av channel.
Now when your on right channel on telly you need to now make sure dish network is on and on a channel or press the tv guide button just so you know what your looking for when the picture comes through.
You need to press av on the vcr controll this will then pick up the signal from the dish network via the scart lead as av is the channel for scart lead.
say if you was recording from dish net to vcr you would put the vcr on av to pick up the signal so press av on vcr controll this should then allow you to watch the dish network with no problems.
Let me know if you still cant and ill assist you further if it dont work tell me what you have done so i know how much you have done ok
