CH21 error on LG - 800 Sq. Ft. 14,000 BTU Smart Window Air Conditioner (model LW1522IVSM).

The error is that the DC voltage is too high, not the house AC voltage. It should regulate through a transformer. Get LG to send an engineer under warranty. If you have a multimeter, you can test your house voltage.

Power adapter i can us

What does a power adapter do?
An AC adapter, AC/DC adapter, or AC/DC converter is a type of external power supply, often enclosed in a case similar to an AC plug. ... AC adapters are used with electrical devices that require power but do not contain internal components to derive the required voltage and power from mains power.
OR
power adapter. A power supply for electronic devices. Also called an "AC adapter" or "charger," power adapters plug into a wall outlet and convert AC to a single DC voltage. Computers use multiple DC voltages, and the power adapter is the external part of the power supply for a laptop.

Lost 120 volts on coachmen Somerset dreamcatcher 32.5 while hooked up to power pole. still have 12 volts.all converter fuses and power panel circuit breakers good. Power from pole is good.

First, I'm not a Coachmen RV Tech. (but most DC to AC inverters are not brand specific.)
* Check inverter fuse (on actual inverter frame). Replace.
* Check DC voltage at inverter. Should be 12 (or 24 VDC) depending on your system battery supply and inverter.
* Check the DC cable connections; crusty, dirty? Cut all power. Remove and clean terminals. Re-connect and check.
* DC okay? Check 110 VAC power at output of inverter. No power? Replace inverter. (possible power spike damaged it or it over heated)
* 110 VAC okay? Check the power panel breakers. If stuck in middle then turn all the way off to reset and turn all the way back on to activate. Check AC power at outlet(s)
* Still no power (at outlet)? Check all outlets. If some still works then there is a problem with the power (wires) distribution. You will need an electrician to trace the wires back to the break in circuit.
* Be safe. check your warranty and call for service.
* Note; your inverter may be on a separate warranty.

Wiring diagram for a 1988 sunline travel trailer.some of the light switches and outlets have no power going to them.what could be the problem?

Your trailer has two electrical systems, 12v and 120v. The 12v system has a battery and perhaps a converter/charger to power it. The 120v system must he hooked up to 'shore power.' Both systems have their own protection. The 12v system has a fuse panel, check for power at each fuse. 12v wall switches are often smaller and don't look like typical 120v switches like in a house.

The 120v system has a breaker box and circuit breakers. Reset each breaker by turning off then on again. In addition, the 120v outlets might have a GCFI outlet near a sink. It often is wired first in a breaker circuit, thus giving GCFI protection to other outlets in the circuit. Test the GCFI and make sure it clicks off and can be reset.

How to use

Voltage testers and volt meters are two different things. A meter will provide a an indication of the exact voltage and type AC or DC. A tester on the other hand simply provides an indication of presence of power with little to no indication of how much or type.

AC power is what is provided by most power companies in the world. DC is a type of power provided by batteries and DC power supplies. If your tester or meter has provisions to check for AC and DC, you should check for BOTH. If AC power is present and you are have set your meter to test for DC power, your meter will indicate 0 volts. You can see this can be a dangerous condition. Most simple testers will not care if AC or DC power is being tested and the types that use neon lamps will usually glow differently for AC and DC power.

When setting up for testing voltage, you must test across the power source (or in "parallel") or load (such as a light bulb), as opposed to "in series" with the power source. Across would be from the + to - post of a battery, into the slots of an outlet, etc. "In series" is when the tester would be completing a circuit - such as testing across an open switch.

First, check the meter's operation by testing a known good power source by following the next steps. Set the meter for the type power to be tested. Choose AC if unsure. Next, set the meter for the highest voltage range supported. Make sure this range is higher than the expected voltage, otherwise damage to the meter may result. Connect the probes to the power source. Read the meter. If the meter moved only slightly, adjust the range of the meter to the next lower value. You can keep adjusting downward as needed to get the most precise reading possible - but do not set the range to a value less than the voltage present. A 0-300 volt scale is the lowest to measure a 240 volt outlet - switching to a 0 - 150 volt scale will damage the meter. The 0 - 150 volt scale would be fine for measuring 120 volt outlets.

If the meter did not move, change the type from AC to DC. and repeat. If it still does not work, the meter is not working correctly (if testing a know good source) or there is no power present (if the meter worked on a known good power source).

Good luck!

But its not chargin when i plug it in and i dont how to fix a DC jack..

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.

2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.

3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.

4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

I have a thermoelectric wine cooler (heintzman DC2-40C) that no longer cools as it should....help....

Thermoelectric devices (or modules) require direct current (DC) for operation. Alternating current (AC), the form of electricity found in wall outlets, causes a thermoelectric device to alternate between heating and cooling, rendering it effectively useless. "Ripple" is the AC component of DC current and occurs when a power supply does not completely convert AC current to DC current.
You just might want to find out why the AC is not turning to the DC required, This could be a matter of chaning outlet plug or maybe the Ower pack that coverts the AC to DC.

Matrix 5000 ups does not switch over to ac Supply. Ac power detected by the system but still working on dc supply.

Forgive me if you checked this already but make sure that the outlet is live by plugging something else in it. Some outlets can be turned off by light switches.

Once you are certian the outlet is hot then it may be a case of the outlet not delivering enough power. Depending on the UPS you may be able to correct this by decreasing the UPS' sensitivity level. This will prevent it from going to DC power when it detects low voltage from the outlet.

I recommend that you contact the manufacturer or search there website for further troubleshooting information.

I hope this helps.

MAGELLAN ROADMATE 700 ON THE FRITZ.

I had the same problem with myRm 700, too. Solution : connect your unit into the AC power pack . Turn it on. Then reinsert an address into the unit while plugged into the 110 volt ac wall outlet power supply. You may need to repeat this operation a few times.
Also, used mine in my 18-wheeler using a ac to dc power inverter. It seemed to work everytime. Note make sure the ac to dc inverter you by has enough dc output to feed your Gps all the juice it needs. That ac to dc inverter can be used to run other ac powererd appliances, too.
