The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

Yaesu FT-710 Headphones Not Muting speaker

Inside the headphone socket there is a small lever that disconnects the feed to the speakers. When working normally, you would still get sounds in the headphones or sound from the speaker. Try spraying some switch contact cleaner into the socket to clean that switch.

HOW DO I PLACE AN LG BLUETOOTH HBM710 IN "DISCOVERY MODE" ?

Just came across your question while searching for the same answer - Here's what I found out:

When it's off, press and hold the on button for 5 seconds - it'll turn on, but keep holding until you hear the short beep - the light's on and you're where you want to be. Here's the full text that I found from the manual:

-With the HBM-710 off, press and hold the PWR/END button for 5 seconds
(You will hear a short beep and the LED indicator will stay red, when the device enters pairing mode)
-Using your handset, find the "Bluetooth menu" and "search for" or "add" new devices
- Select "LG HBM-710" from the list of devices and pair it with your headset
- When asked for the Pass/PIN code during the pairing procedure, please enter "0000" (4 zeros)
- Once pairing has been completed successfully, you will hear a beep
- After pairing successfully, be sure to "connect" to the LF HBM-710
- If you want to pair with other devices in the future, the headset must be in "Pairing mode"
- If it will be not connected the "Pairing" for three minutes, it will be turned off.

I have an LG HBM 710 bluetooth headset and its not hearing when I speak. It is as if it is set on mute. I can't find the manual. Any ideas if it could accidentally be in mute and how to get it out?

I still have my manual. There is NO mention of being able to mute. Otherwise, my only guess could be that maybe you need a recharge. Sorry, that's the best I can offer.

Make sure that you are speaking clearly, No joke, but more answers could be notified by your land line seller, they should tell you exactly how to fix it, or provide you with a new one.
