Hello I have a TechnoMarine Redsquare Wrist watch and it seems the the movement (Movement: Swiss Eta G10.711) has died on me. I've replaced the battery but the handds still don not move. Is this a common issue with this particular model? How do I correct the issue? Your response is greatly appreciated. Thank you -Christian Maldonado

I have a Gucci watch with the model number 3605 L on the back but I don't see a serial number how do I find out if its real

Open it up and see what movement is inside, Gucci Buy their movements, as they are NOT watch makers but a fashion designer. I would expect to see an ETA automatic 2836/2 or similar. The ETA is a Swiss made movement, ETA supply movements for many good watch brands, such as Tag Heuer, early Breitling, Raymond Weil, Fortis, Ebel & the list goes on. Very easy to work on and spare parts are easy to obtain. Great work horse movement is the ETA, hence why everyone else uses them, not just Swatch.
Not sure your watch would have a serial number, not all watches have them. Just because you can’t see one or it doesn’t have one, it doesn’t mean it’s fake.
If you pop the back off, take a photo of the movement and send it to me at [email protected] or if you can place it on here, do so, but I’m guaranteed to see it if you email it to me.
Gucci watches are around £400/£600 range, so should be a good solid watch.
Does it sound solid when you shake it? It shouldn’t squeak or rattle too much at that money. The crystal should be AR coated (anti reflective)
Also use a magnifying glass to look at the dial for imperfections, there should be none. QC at Gucci is tight, so look carefully at the dial.
Hope this helps

I didn't wear my Michele CSX 36 w/ diamond watch for a few days..When I went to put it on the time was wrong. So I tried to correct it and now it has not kept accurate time w/in a 24 hr period. Fo

I am pretty 100 percent sure that Michele CSX 36 diamonds only comes with a swiss quartz movement not an automatic movement.
So the problem seems to be that the battery is dying and need to be replaced. Stopping and going is usually a sign of a battery dying in a swiss quartz movement.
So it should be nothing major and just a battery.

Need a new watch movement

I am not sure which Vincente model you have but I can tell you that the movements for those are Swiss made. That may not seem like much but there's not a lot of info on them.
Chances are it's an ETA movement and if not there's an ETA movement that should fit it. ETA is one of the top Swiss movement makers around. You will find their movements in more watch over $1500 then I care to mention. You should be able to get a movement for around $150 plus installation. You will need to go to a watch repair shop so find a good one.
Hope this helps.

Tissot wristwatch model PR 516 GL

I guess you never overhauled your watch.Every mechanism has it's limits - so does the watch movements. Your watch has ETA Swiss made mechanical movement which is very good and reliable, but you have to take care of it from time to time. Mechanical movements are designed to last almost forever if they are looked after and yours isn't an exception. Bring it down to the local watchmaker and ask to overhaul it. It will run as new again and will not let you down. It is recommended to overhaul mechanical watches every 4-6 years. If this will be done, your watch will happily tick-tock on your grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand children's wrist and they will remember you with a few good words and respect.

Can i replace automatic movement for quartz in a james bond model , and can i do this myself

You can if you have following:
1) Lathe technique skills,
2) Watchmaking skills,
3) Watch engineering knowledge,
4) All necessery watchmaking hand tools,
4) Watchmakers lathe,
6) Microdrill,
7) Omega or ETA manufactured quartz movement
8) Original Omega dial for this particular movement,
9) Watch hands for this particular dial.
At the very end your watch will have no market value at all exept sentimental value for yourself.

DIFERENT DISPLAY FOR THE SAME WATCH MODEL.

A watch is considered Swiss, when it is made in Switzerland (hope I spelled that right), by a Swiss Comapny, using 50% or more parts that are also Swiss. Watches made this way will have "Swiss Made" Swiss" or a similar print on the back.

If it has the lables of "Swiss movement" "Swiss Case" then it means that it is only partly swiss made, and will not have a lable listed in the first part of this solution branded on the back.

Hope I helped, have a great day.

Need a new stem. Can I purchase on and get it put on myself

You have to open your watch and find movement number. Use an eyeglass as the numbers are very tiny. Number is pressed onto one of movement plates and shoud be letters ETA+number.
When this is done, visit your nearest watchmaker shop and ask for stem for movement ETA+number. Do not tell this is for Ebel or you will be charged accordingly to brand name.
There should be no problems for supplying ETA stem.
