i dont know if your drive is dead , but try to connected to an Other Pc with different System (windows Xp Or 7 ) and see if it work try to formate it , but if he didn't work that's mean is dead ,

Best thing you can do is to determine whether its the port or the camera.
If you go to the Apple in the upper-left corner, and go to "About this Mac", then click "More information", it will start System Profiler. On the left side, under "Hardware", click on "Firewire" and see if your iSight shows up. If you have another FireWire device, plug it in, and see if it shows up there as well. The solution could just be a dead iSight (hopefully!). The worst case scenario is a dead FireWire bus...
If you have a dead iSight, I'd guess that ebay would be your best resource at this point. If its a dead bus, I'm afraid it won't be terribly cost effective to fix it :-/

Place the camera in VCR mode, connect a firewire cable and open iMovie, that should work. If not open the System Profiler and see if the camera is on the Firewire Bus.
Could be a bad cable or dead camera port, try with other equipment to trouble shoot the culprit.

You need a firewire driver, you need to get that from the manufacturers web site, or the DVD that came with your camera.you need the one for your camera.

It means the hard drive is crashing. If it's clicking it means there is a problem with the hard drive. Try restoring your ipod or reformatting it.

HAVE YOU HAD THE CAMCORDER ON THE MAINS ADAPTOR WHEN IT WAS CONNECTED TO THE FIREWIRE AS IT HAS TO BE TO POWER THE FIREWIRE PORT!
