Rio Karma hard drive crapped out - are there any vendors that can salvage?

The hard drive on my Rio Karma has crapped out and before I could find the time to fix it, the battery has swollen so bad that it's cracked the case of the player. Are there any vendors that I can send it to, that could salvage the songs off the player? I think the player is too far gone but I'd hate to lose my songs :(

Still having this issue? I just read the problem. The mini hard drive can be connected to a PC with the right adapter. If you still want to salvage the songs let me know.

Rio karma hard drive
Hi. I use this adapter for RCA Lyra MP3 players and it could be the same for your Rio Karma. To be sure that it is a mini IDE connector, open the karma up by going here http://www.takeitapart.net/archives/rio-karma/ and if it is a mini IDE then you can go to Ebay and search for item # 230283935161. I hope this helps.

Rio Karma Battery
Try looking at Ebay item # 350057466979 or simply search for rio karma battery and you will find what you need. Replacing is as simple as taking some screws off and opening the rio. Don't have someone else do it because it is a simple thing that won't be worth paying someone else to do it.

Can not copy files from Rio Karma to PC
Files can be copied to the computer from the karma although it doesn't work all that well.
You'll need to use Rio Taxi. I think you can get that if you connect the karma to your network using the dock then browse to the karma's ip address and get it. If not you may have to try and find a place to download it.
