Ok so with mine I turn it on and it says something along the lines of the file system is corrupted. Restore now and it restores and restarts but it asks me to do it again and again etc. so mine is screwed I am going to have to send it in how you figure out if you need to send yours in is hold down the ps3 power button (MUST BE OFF FIRST) it will turn on just keep holding it until it turns off then do it again but this time while you’re holding it you’ll hear a beep and then 2 beeps after you hear the 2 beeps let go you’ll go into this thing called safe mode ok from here you’re going to press restore file system I think its option 3 it will say "preparing" ok now if it ends up taking more than an hour and it still says preparing unplug your ps3 and go back into safe mode and your
unfortunately going to have to press restore this will remove everything you have on the ps3(Saves, movies, music, etc.) now after you pick that option wait about 4 hours if it still says preparing then I hope you have the warranty cause you’re going to need a entirely new ps3 I have heard of there being a way to restore it with a cd but you will need to do some searching and talk to an expert in that stuff I wish you good luck

You can fix it but you will lose what you had on the ps3's harddrive , take the hd out , you have to have sata connections on your computer you hook the ps3's hd to your motherboard ,unplug your hd and put a windows disk in get to the partion part and partion your ps3's hd , then unhook it and plug it back into your ps3 turn it on it should ask you to format say yes and it should work again

SOURCE: My PS3's hard disk file system is corrupted

This happened to my husbands PS3 also. He put it into another PS3 and reformatted it and then when he got home and put it back into his it asked him to reformat again and this did the trick. It's been working ever since. He called Sony and they wanted him to send back his hard drive and they would either fix or send him a "new" refurbished one for $150. I don't think so!!

SOURCE: My PS3's hard disk file system is corrupted

There is an alternate way to restore your HDD. Turn off your system and when u see the red light, hold the power button in front until you hear a total of 4 beeps (1 alone, 1 alone, 2 together). It usually works on second try. it should show a screen and say hook up controller with a usb cord. Then it should show i think 6 options. Choose the restore option. it should work.

Hope it works and wish you all the best!
P.S.- I just got the 80010514 error on my ps3 and my ps3 games dont work anymore :(

SOURCE: My PS3's hard disk file system is corrupted

This is happening because your console is not recognizing the HDD (hard drive) for what ever reason. The corrupted files are about to do damage to your console, and a PS3 will not turn on if it thinks further damage will occur. Here are two things you can do;
1. Try accessing the HDD reset menu. Here's how you do this: With a solid red light showing, hold down both the power & eject buttons. You're going to hear a single beep, then a double beep. Once you hear the double beep, release both buttons. You'll get a message on your TV saying "connect your controller using USB". Following all the instructions will lead you to a 6 item menu. You are going to choose number 3. If that option doesn't work, pick number 6. BE WARNED!!! Number 6 will delete ALL of your saved memory! I know that really sucks, but this may be the only way to save your console short of repair. You can "back-up" your saved data using a "USB storage device" Like a memory stick or even your iPod.
If none of this works, or the console just won't let you do the "double button" thing, it'll need to be repaired. You can contact PSR repairs at www.psr1.com. They are really great! They do both warranty & non-warranty repair work for a very decent price. I hope I helped. Good luck, Indra!

Hard disk's file system is corrupted.

Most likely your hard drive is completely corrupted. It could be as simple as a new Hard Drive replacement or as complicated as a motherboard issue.
