Check power supply DC filter caps first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Model 2200W Proview LCD Monitor - How do I connect it to HP Laptop?

Since you don't provide the laptop model, I assume your PC has at least a 15 Pin VGA connector. You will need a 15 pin male VGA to 15 pin male VGA cable, just plug it at the laptop and the monitor, that should do. If your laptop has also an HDMI or DVI or Display Port, you will need a proper cable or adapter.

How to take apart proview 2200w

Hello,

The Proview 2200W is made by the same company that make the FPD1975w monitor for Gateway computers. The problem you are having is usually caused by bad capacitors on the power supply board just as you have stated. The problem is that model can have two different power supplies. One board is the PI-190DTLB and the other is the ILPI-021. These two boards use very different parts for the repair. You will need to open the unit and check the board before you order the parts. Here is a link to order a parts kit for both boards, and shipping to Israel is no problem, the kits ship free worldwide. There are instruction guides showing how to dis-assemble and repair many monitors on the youtube link.

My moniter has a black screen and is blicking blue light. i have a proview model 2200w? Was working fine until i shut down yesterday. I unpluged, nothing happened. Could it be in a sleep mode? If so, how...

this is so common in lcd monitors, its the power suply board.... most likely a capacitor.. so type a model# into google following the words "power suply" it will probably be close to $50-$60... thats better than buying a new one

hope this helps you

Proview lcd monitor has permanent white screen

I had this exact same problem with the 2200W. I was afraid it was the logic board but that wasn't the case.

I replaced all of the capacitors on the power supply board and now it works perfectly. At first I only replaced the bulging capacitors but that didn't fix it. Most of the bulging caps were the 680's and 470's. It ended up being a 220 (which didn't even look bad) closest to the cluster of 680's.

Save yourself some time and replace ALL of the caps. I used this image from a post on this site as my guide: http://www.ccl-la.com/pl926.jpg

Proview 22

try test the LCD to other PC, if it is working on other PCs, then your VGA card might be the cause. And if the same problem happens to other PC's then the LCD is at fault. Remember to Check the VGA cord. Good luck.
