Your TV must be equipped with AV inputs (RCA jacks - yellow, white, red)
in order to connect this unit. If your TV does not have AV inputs, you will need a RF Modulator to connect the DVD recorder to your TV's
antenna/cable input. RF Modulators are available at
major electronics retailers such as Radio Shack or Wal-Mart and allow the 3 RCA outs from the recorder to connect to the RF modulator RCA inputs and then you can connect a coaxial cable from the modulator to the TV RF input and select channel 3 or 4 on the TV. The DVD recorder will not pass thru signals to the TV using coaxial cable as far as DVD are concerned.

I got an RF modulator but instructions was stating to set the TV to channel 3 or 4 and other than the remote channel selector it doesnt have that option. When I hook everything up and turn the DVD on the modulator lights up but the screen just gets fuzzy and no signal comes through. I got Philips Stereo RF Modulator and tied the incoming coax to it and an output coax to the TV. I patched using RCA cables from the DVD player to the RF modulator. Now the RF modulator has a channel 3 / 4 toggle but neither seems to work.

Connect incoming coax to the DVD recorder's RF input so that you can use its tuner. Connect another coax cable from DVD recorder RF out to RF modulator's RF input and another coax from RF mod RF out to the TV's RF input. Connect 3 RCA cables from DVD recorder's 3 RCA outputs (yellow, white, red) to the RF mod 3 RCA inputs. Your TV needs to be on channel 3 and the RF modulator needs to be on channel 3. Simply tune the TV as normal to channel 3. Use remote or buttons on TV itself (channel up or down)

Depending on your RF modulator model, you also may have to select the input for the DVD recorder by pushing a select input button on the RF modulator for that input. If you only have one set of RCA inputs on the RF mod (yellow, white, red) then you may not need to select an input.

Trying to connect a DVD player to a TV that is only equipped with a cable jack what do I do

You need an A/V to RF adapter to convert the audio and video outputs of the DVD player to RF so that you can watch the DVD player on an available VHF channel on the TV. See this device offered by Amazon:
RF Modulator TV Switch Audio Video RCA Ant Input to Type Coax Output...
You may also need a short 75 ohm length of coaxial cable with "F" type connectors on both ends and A/V cables with RCA plugs to complete the setup.

Old TV

I can assume the input for your tv has only a coax input to it. Meaning a threaded connector on the back. If so, first connect the Wii to the input of the dvd player, second, from the output of the dvd player, this is where your solution is needed. run a coax cable from the tv to the DVD player and at the dvd player you will need an adapter from your local Radio Shack or electronics store. It should be a female coax to RCA adapter (male Red White and Yellow).Red and white for audio and yellow for video. Post a pic of the back of the tv if this doesnt solve it for you. Good luck, fingers crossed.

How do you connect the dvd player to tv ?

What kind of connection does the TV and DVD have? If it has reg cable you would put the coax cable coming off of the cable box to the in line on the DVD player and then connect another coax cable to the TV. If you have the 3 RCA connectors 1 white 1 red and 1 yellow you would connect it to an input in the back of the tv and follow the colors red to red white to white and yellow to yellow. Have an RCA F27636BC TV. Can u hook a DVD player

How to hookup TV

If you have a TV with only a single coax input and you want to hook up components like DVD players and VCRs, here's how to do it.

What you need to connect your DVD player or game players to a TV that only has a VHF/UHF 75-ohm F-connector ("coax antenna input").

1.) RF Modulator with Stereo Audio Inputs.

2.) 6 foot long coaxial cable with male "F" connectors. This cable goes from the modulator to the TV. The modulator also has a coaxial input to plug in your antenna or your VCR.

3.) 6 foot long Video and Audio Cables with "RCA" plugs. The cables connect the yellow, red and white outputs from your DVD or game player to the yellow, red and white inputs of the modulator.

Works with X-Box, PlayStation, Nintendo or other devices that output audio/video via the RCA plugs and you want to connect them to your coaxial only TV.

No sound

Steve make sure that the coax is connected to the output on the DVD/VCR and to the TV's cable or antenna input. This should give you picture and sound on CH 3. If you use RCA jacks you must also use the yellow video plug as well on the same input on the TV as well as on the DVD to get both picture and sound to the tv. The place yoou put the RCA's on the TV will determine where the image will be displayed e.g. if connected to VIDEO 1 on TV YOU MUST CHANGE THE TV TO THE INPUT NAMED AUDIO 1. You can do this by using the input or source button on the remote control for the tv or go into the tv's menu and perform the task that way. I hope this helps you resolve the issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of more assistance.

Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
