What do I need to activate wireless on insignia D400a through broadband?

To use Wifi on a D400 series PC, you would need to purchase a wifi PCI card (Do not get any PCIe or PCI2 or newer card specs) or wifi USB adapter.

Since standard PCI is consider mostly obsolete, they can be found fairly cheak, usually under $10 usd on places like Amazon.

I need to change the screen resolution and the slider bar under display will not move from 640 x 480 or 16 bit. I just had to reinstall Windows XP pro after it crashed and I didn't have the problem...

Hi Friend, As you have told me that you have reinstalled Windows on the system and after that you are not able to select the screen resolution. So, I believe that you might try updating the video drivers for the system that can fix the issue.
Here is the link of latest video drivers for Dell:

How do i get sound driver for dell latitude d400

You can download it from the Dell Official website, (click here) and again click "Download" button, once you click the "Download", another window will open up with two download options, from there click the bottom "Download" button.

[This driver is for windows xp, it's not available for vista or windows 7]
If you need further help let me know.

Good luck.

I reinstalled windows xp on my dell latitude D400 notebook now my display settings are 640 x 480 pixels and I cannot change it I have tried to download drivers from the dell support website but cannot...

You have to be absolutely sure you are downloading the correct display drivers for your system. The dell installers are very picky.
There are 2 video drivers here is the link.

Drivers for a Insignia d400a CPU

Sandrew, argh, are you kidding me?

Check intel's website, you have an intel D845GVSR motherboard. Here is a better web page!

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=1065&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21

You'll have to search around but all your drivers are in intel's website. Except for one, and thats your media reader, you'll have to use to one supplied on your recovery disk that came with the D400A.

Cheers,
